She studied at Lille Nicholaisen academy for performance and dance, but quit dancing at the age of 19 to avoid stress. She then enrolled in a four-year business course and subsequently worked as an apprentice in an estate agency for two years.
Dance Career
Camilla Dallerup, who left dancing momentarily to work as an estate agent, decided to give dancing one last chance after hearing a samba on the radio. In the late 1990s, she met Brendan Cole while searching for a dance partner and the two moved to London, United Kingdom.
She and Cole started practicing together and participating in dance competitions as partners. In 2003, they finished third at the UK Closed Championships in Latin American and also ranked in the top 12 world professionals at the open British championships.
In 2004, they were offered to participate in the new BBC show 'Strictly Come Dancing', paired with separate partners. Dallerup and her partner David Dickinson were voted out in the 3rd week of the show; while Cole went on to win the title along with his partner Natasha Kaplinsky.
She separated from Cole during the first season of the show, and partnered with British dancer Ian Waite in 2004 to participate in professional dancing. The two reached the second place for Latin American at the 2005 UK Closed Championships and made their way to the semi-final of the International championships at the Royal Albert Hall in 2004.
In 2005, she teamed up with Nigel Clarke and Reggie Yates to host the CBBC show 'Dance Factory'. She represented the host nation, UK, at the first Eurovision Dance Contest on September 1, 2007, for which she briefly partnered with Brendan Cole once more.
