Camilla Dallerup was newly engaged to her dance partner and boyfriend of eight years Brendan Cole when the two joined the crew of 'Strictly Come Dancing'. The two had purchased a three-bedroom penthouse in Wallington Surrey, as well as shared the same bank account and email address.
Soon after joining the show, Cole started to show his fondness towards his dance partner, Natasha Kaplinsky, which sparked rumors of an affair. Dallerup decided to separate from him after he publicly showed his affection by kissing his partner in front of an audience and his to be parents-in-law.
In 2008, actress Lesley Joseph set her up for a date with Kevin Sacre on the sets of 'The Underdog Show'. The two soon realized that they would make perfect partners and eventually got married on 29 July 2010 in a ceremony in Ibiza. Following their marriage, both of them took up the last name Sacre-Dallerup.
Camilla Dallerup was born on April 6, 1974, in Aalborg, Denmark to Benni and Jytte Dallerup. Her father owned a car sales business and her mother ran a hairdressing salon. She has an older sister named Jeanet.
When she was two, her mother enrolled her into an expensive dance training program to correct a foot problem. She participated in her first dance competition at the age of six and won the Danish Junior Championships when she was 12.
She studied at Lille Nicholaisen academy for performance and dance, but quit dancing at the age of 19 to avoid stress. She then enrolled in a four-year business course and subsequently worked as an apprentice in an estate agency for two years.
Camilla Dallerup, who left dancing momentarily to work as an estate agent, decided to give dancing one last chance after hearing a samba on the radio. In the late 1990s, she met Brendan Cole while searching for a dance partner and the two moved to London, United Kingdom.
She and Cole started practicing together and participating in dance competitions as partners. In 2003, they finished third at the UK Closed Championships in Latin American and also ranked in the top 12 world professionals at the open British championships.
In 2004, they were offered to participate in the new BBC show 'Strictly Come Dancing', paired with separate partners. Dallerup and her partner David Dickinson were voted out in the 3rd week of the show; while Cole went on to win the title along with his partner Natasha Kaplinsky.
She separated from Cole during the first season of the show, and partnered with British dancer Ian Waite in 2004 to participate in professional dancing. The two reached the second place for Latin American at the 2005 UK Closed Championships and made their way to the semi-final of the International championships at the Royal Albert Hall in 2004.
In 2005, she teamed up with Nigel Clarke and Reggie Yates to host the CBBC show 'Dance Factory'. She represented the host nation, UK, at the first Eurovision Dance Contest on September 1, 2007, for which she briefly partnered with Brendan Cole once more.
During 2007, Camilla Dallerup made many guest appearances on the children's television show 'Blue Peter' which her 'Strictly Come Dancing' partner Gethin Jones was a part of. She also acted as a judge on the BBC Two children's program 'Skate Nation' in 2009.
She participated in the second season of the television series 'The Underdog Show' in late 2008. She had to pair up with the untrained rescue dog Chico for a Crufts-style competition, which she finished third.
In November 2009, she was a contestant on the British reality television series 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!' which required her to survive in the Australian jungle. She withdrew from the show in the fourth day as she could not cope with the exhaustion and lack of food.
She started her stage acting career in 2011, when she appeared as Elaine alongside her husband Kevin Sacre in Tim Firth's stage adaptation of the film 'Calendar Girls'. The same year she played the Genie in Aladdin Pantomime in Milton Keynes UK.
In 2012, she played the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella Pantomime Telford, UK. Throughout the next few years, she reprised the role in a number of other productions of the play around UK.
