Lynn Collins was born Viola Lynn Collins, on May 16, 1977, in Houston, Texas. She moved to Singapore with her parents when she was four years old. She spent her summers in Japan, as her parents were getting their karate ranks upgraded there. She, too, is a trained martial artist.

After spending six years in Singapore, she returned to Houston along with her family. While in Texas, she completed her elementary education from ‘Klein High School.’ After moving to Singapore, she joined the ‘Singapore American School.’ In 1999, she graduated with a BFA degree from ‘Juilliard.’

She discovered her passion for acting at an early age. Her desire turned into a dream when she acted at a Christmas pageant. As soon as she completed her graduation, she went to New York and bagged her first acting project.

Career

In 1999, she made her first TV appearance in an episode of the series ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.’ She played ‘Virginia Hayes,’ a single-episode role in the series. Following this acting stint, she also appeared in plays such as ‘Hamlet’ and ‘Romeo and Juliet.’

In 2001, she bagged the role of ‘Catarin’ in the TV film ‘Earth Angels.’ She then appeared in small roles in series such as ‘The Education of Max Bickford’ and ‘Push, Nevada.’ Following this, she bagged the role of ‘Assistant D.A.
