She was born on June 1, 1997, in Los Angeles, California, United States. Her mother Sharolyn is a nutritionist. She has an elder sister Martine Leithold and a younger brother Wolfgang Leithold. Scarlett is of mixed ancestry including English, German, Swiss, Irish and Dutch descent.

There is not much information available on the early life of this gorgeous damsel excepting that she moved to Butler, Pennsylvania when she was five years old and relocated back to Los Angeles at eleven years of age. She was homeschooled so as to enable her to pursue her modelling career along with her studies.

Her journey in showbiz as a model happened by chance after she was discovered at an airport by full service modelling and talent agency Wilhelmina Models (presently known as Wilhelmina International Inc.) when she was just 14 years old. She went on to sign with the agency at 15 years of age.

Later she signed with Next Models Worldwide, her present agency. She has worked for many brands but garnered considerable fame and attention only after she started modelling for the Italian fashion brand Brandy Melville. She joined the Italian company through Next Models Worldwide.

The company has been censured by critics as it offers clothing of just one size that is suitable for only slender girls and does not cater to the requirements of the vast majority of American women.

Talking about the reason of pursuing modelling she said to her Ask.fm followers that she has the required traits to be in the profession. She said that she is tall and thin, have a face that can be given different looks with different makeup, and also has a lot of hair enabling to create different hairdos.

Her Twitter account ‘SLeithold’ that she opened in May 2015 has garnered more than 34 K followers while her Instagram account ‘scarlettleithold’ where she has over 580 posts has already amassed more than 2.1 million followers. She regularly checks her Ask.fm account ‘sscarlettleithold’ and answers the questions of her fans who eagerly wait for the responses as also advices given by the damsel. The account presently has over 295 posts and has already garnered more than 5 K likes.

She also gained much attention from the fans of popular Canadian singer, actor and songwriter Justin Bieber after he posted her picture in his Instagram account. The ravishing model however never followed Bieber back as she mentioned to her Ask.fm fans that she is not a big fan of Bieber.

It seems that the diva does not prefer to divulge about her private life as there is hardly any information available on her romantic association or dating status.
