Republicans is a word used to collectively refer to the members of the Republican Party, one of the two major political outfits in the United States. The Republicans have always locked horns with the Democrats during every presidential election and just like the Democratic Party, the Republicans too have millions of supporters across the United States. It has been observed that the Republicans have constantly tried to promote capitalism and strived for improvement in trade. The legendary Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican candidate to be elected to the President’s office. The current president of the United States, Donald Trump, is also a member of the president of the Republican Party. Richard Nixon, Dwight D Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan are a few other famous republican leaders.
