Michael Bivins is one of the founding members of the American R&B group New Edition. With this group he has released the albums ‘Candy Girl,’ ‘New Edition,’ ‘All for Love,’ ‘Under the Blue Moon,’ ‘Heart Break,’ ‘Home Again’ and ‘One Love.’ When the group broke up, Bivins formed Bell Biv DeVoe with Ronnie DeVoe and Ricky Bell. The group’s debut album titled ‘Poison’ was released in 1990. This album peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. Soon after this, the group released their second album titled ‘Hootie Mack’. Then in 2001, Bell Biv DeVoe released the album titled ‘BBD’. After this, the album ‘Three Stripes’ came out in 2017.
Bivins also manages, discovers and produces for other acts. He serves as the music entrepreneur as well as A&R man of his own acts. Bivins, who manages the Artist Development at Making the Band 4, is also the CEO as well as the founder of the Sporty Rich Enterprises record label.
