Jake Miller won the Samsung and T-Mobile USA ‘Kick it With the Band’ competition in 2011. As part of the prize, he was given a cash award as well as an opportunity to do a video with YouTube star Keenan Cahill. This win earned him considerable popularity. Soon after this, he performed with artistes like Mac Miller, Sean Kingston, Flo Rida, Asher Roth, We the Kings, and Cody Simpson.
He next partnered with Big Time Rush for the track "Lost In Love" and released his EP titled ‘Spotlight’ on July 29, 2012. The following year, the American singer signed with E1 Music and released the single "A Million Lives" for his EP ‘The Road Less Traveled’. On November 5, 2013, he released his debut album ‘Us Against Them’. That month, he also signed a record deal with Warner Bros.
After this, Miller recorded the lead track titled “First Flight Home” for his third EP ‘Dazed and Confused.’ On November 4, 2014, he released the EP that also included the singles "Lion Heart," "Party in the Penthouse," and "Ghost" along with the lead song.
The American artiste then came up with his EP ‘Rumors’ which later charted at #118 on the Billboard 200.
On August 19, 2016, Miller released his new 7-Track EP ‘Overnight.’ A year later, he released his second album titled ‘2:00am in LA’. On February 19, 2018, he revealed the title and the release date of his upcoming album ‘Silver Lining’. The album came out on March 9, 2018.
