Trinity Laure’Ale Home was born on March 18, 1995, in Calumet City, Illinois. Tink started singing in churches at the age of 5.

She was only 11 when she started writing songs. She was 15 when she started producing music and rapping in her father’s basement studio.

By the time she was 16, Tink and her brother had posted their first music clip online and had started receiving compliments from the local listeners. The clip showed her freestyling to Clipse’s ‘Grindin.’

She attended Chicago’s ‘Simeon Career Academy.’ She participated in various talent shows there.

She was nicknamed “Tink” by her high-school mates and decided to adopt it as her stage name. Tink believes that she has created 75% of her music with her father, who is a sound engineer.

English is her favorite subject, as it helps her become a stronger writer. Although, she is one of the most talked-about writers in Chicago, Tink did not initially want to be a singer and dreamt of becoming a radio show host instead.

After she received positive reviews about her music on social media, she continued to work on it and eventually became a successful artist.

Tin began her career in 2011, when she released her debut mixtape, ‘Winter’s Diary.’ She was represented by ‘Lyrical Eyes Management’ and was still in high school then.

In 2012, she released two more mixtapes: ‘Alter Ego’ and ‘Blunts & Ballads.’ In 2013, she released her fourth mixtape, ‘Boss Up.’

She was also featured in ‘Future Brown’s debut single, ‘Wanna Party.’ Soon, Tink started receiving offers from various music labels and records.

Her meetings with labels, however, proved to be futile, and Tink claimed she was comfortable being an independent artist. Her next mixtape, ‘Winter’s Diary 2: Forever Yours,’ was released in 2014 and became a major hit.

The album was ranked eighth by ‘Rolling Stone’ and ninth by ‘Billboard’ that year. During this time, she also collaborated with artists such as ‘Sleigh Bells,’ with whom she released a single titled ‘That Did It,’ and Kelela, with whom she released ‘Want It.’

She also collaborated with Jeremih for a song titled ‘Don’t Tell Nobody.’ In October 2014, Tink signed a contract with Timbaland’s ‘Mosley Music Group,’ an imprint of ‘Epic Records.’

As part of her contract with Timbaland’s label, her debut album was set to be released in 2015. However, the project was delayed.

Tink told ‘The FADER’ that it was Timbaland’s decision to delay the album. Before the release of the album, Timbaland had declared that the late singer Aaliyah had appeared to him and described Tink as “the one.”

The contract with ‘Mosley and Epic’ did not allow her to share her new music with her fans. She found this extremely limiting and frustrating. Thus, she decided to end her contract with Timbaland’s label and geared up to start from scratch.

Meanwhile, she released her sixth mixtape, ‘Winter’s Diary 3.’ Her most popular song, ‘I Like,’ was featured in this mixtape.

In 2016, she released her seventh mixtape, ‘Winter’s Diary 4.’ It attained the 20th spot on ‘Rolling Stone’s list of ‘40 Best Rap Albums of 2016.’

She also released a few non-album singles such as ‘Clocks’ and ‘Commitment’ during this time. In 2018, she released a single titled ‘Breakin’ Me’ from ‘Winter’s Diary 5.’

She also released her first EP, ‘Pain & Pleasure,’ in 2018. Her debut studio album, ‘Think Tink,’ which was shelved in 2015, is also set to be released this year.

Tink was featured in a ‘WorldStarHipHop’ documentary that highlighted Chicago’s hip-hop scene. The documentary was titled ‘The Field: Chicago.’

Tink was chosen as part of the ‘XXL 2015 Freshman Class.’ She has appeared on the covers of ‘RedEye,’ ‘Chicago Tribune,’ ‘fakeshoredrive.com,’ ‘TheMash,’ and many other publications.

Tink has dated Don Marley in the past. She is currently believed to be single.

She considers Alicia Keys and the band ‘TLC’ her idols. Teyana Taylor and Rihanna have been her style icons.

She has also used her music to uplift women and has supported causes such as the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.

She believes she wants to become “a positive, realistic vision of female empowerment.”
