Taylor “Tae” Dye is an American country singer famous for being one half of the music duo Maddie & Tae, the other half being Madison “Maddie” Marlow. The duo has released one album, one EP, and several singles till date. Growing up, Dye performed as a singer at numerous events. She often sang the national anthem in festivals and functions. At 15, she met Maddie for the first time and the two began composing music together. Since then, the girls have been working and performing together. Dye serves as the background vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter while Marlow serves as the lead vocalist and guitarist. The girls first tasted success with their breakthrough 2014 hit track "Girl in a Country Song". The young performers have also been featured in a number of music videos. They perform live shows on stage as well. Taylor Dye’s singing style combines elements of country music with the pop and rock genres. On a personal note, she is very close to her family as well as her boyfriend, fellow country singer Jackie Lee.

Career
Maddie and Tae first met in 2010. After finishing high school, they moved to Nashville in order to pursue their professional musical career. The girls gave their first ever performance under the name "Sweet Aliana”. In 2014, the duo got signed to the Dot Records.
They wrote their debut song "Girl in a Country Song" which was released as a lead track for their first studio album ‘Start Here’. On November 4, 2014, the duo released their self-titled EP. This extended play featured "Girl in a Country Song" along with three new songs, "Your Side of Town", "Fly" and "Sierra". After this, the country singers cum songwriters co-wrote the song "Boomerang" for Jana Kramer's album ‘Thirty One.’
They went on to release their album’s third single titled "Shut Up and Fish" in November 2015. The following year, they came up with the album’s fourth single titled "Sierra". In March 2016, Maddie and Tae sang at The O2 Arena of C2C: Country to Country festival. Later that year, they launched a fashion line in partnership with Bloomingdales. In June 2017, it was announced that they had signed with UMG Nashville.
In February 2018, the country singers were assigned to Mercury Nashville label. Then on April 27, 2018, they released their single "Friends Don't". The duo has won many awards such as the ASCAP Country Music Award, Country Music Association Award, and Radio Disney Music Award.
