Who is Nova?
Nova is a young American rapper from Reading, Pennsylvania, who rose to fame after he won Lifetime network’s popular show ‘The Rap Game’. He competed in the show to bag a record deal with the American rapper and record producer Jermaine Dupri’s record label So So Def, which he eventually won. Although he grew up in poverty and stayed in a shelter for the homeless for a while, he did not let his tough childhood drive him into depression; rather, he used his background to motivate himself to reach the position where he is now. Before being discovered by Jermaine Dupri, the young boy used to post his raps on Instagram and YouTube. It was in 2013 that he first posted on his social media accounts, from where it all started. He not only raps but also writes the lyrics. Nova is also an internet sensation and has impressive numbers of followers on SoundCloud, Twitter, and musical.ly.

Career
Nova, who was then a 16-year-old, was crowned the winner of Season 3 of ‘The Rap Game’, a reality TV series on the Lifetime network, on December 8, 2016 in Atlanta. Jermaine Dupri was testing a group of aspiring teenage rappers by putting them through various challenges on the show. The reward for the winner was a prestigious contract with his So So Def record label. Dupri discovered Nova through his social media accounts and chose him for the show, where he competed against Tally, King Roscoe, Deetranada, and Flau'jae. He battled it out over the course of 13 weeks along with other contestants, who were all mentored by Jermaine Dupri and other popular musicians. Dupri was also the executive producer.
After the triumph, Nova returned to Atlanta to record with Dupri. His first single was ‘Stay Over’ featuring American singer and songwriter Jacquees, followed by ‘Riding My Wave’, produced by Dupri and Bryan. He also has the single ‘Go Harder’ to his credit. Nova wrote all his verses in the studio itself. He used to work in the studio all night because of his dedication. He also released the song, ‘Look Out Below’. Nova was featured in an interview with Dupri on the Philadelphia hip-hop radio station Boom.
In May 2017, Nova embarked on the 20-city So So Summer17 Tour along with the past contestants of ‘The Rap Game’ including King Roscoe, Deetranada, Prince of New York, Lil Key, Supa Peach, and the past winners Miss Mulatto and Mani. Jermaine Dupri, Bow Wow and Da Brat hosted the tour. It started at the Louisville Palace in Kentucky on May 25, 2017 and ended on June 25 in Dallas, Texas.
The upcoming rapper hopes to join college in the near future and learn music production so that he can record his own music. He has an alternative plan as well, which is getting into acting. He is also keen on stage production. Nova dreams of winning Grammys and of seeing his songs on the top of pop charts.

Nova was born as Julio Franceschi on May 28, 2000, in Reading, Pennsylvania, the United States. He has been home-schooled by his maternal uncles. He has a younger brother named Noah and a sister named Alexy Franceschi. When Nova's mother Jasmin Vega separated from her husband, her brother Ekko, who is also a rapper, took her and her children in. Nova wants to earn enough money to buy a house for his family in a good neighborhood.
In 2017, he entered into a relationship with rapper and fellow contestant of ‘The Rap Game,’ Nia Kay from Chicago. When she was 14, she had represented Chicago in the show.
