A multi-talented personality, Bure has donned various hats in her short career span, as an actor, producer, author and talk show panellist. Candace Cameron Bure was born as Candace Helaine Cameron April 6, 1976 in Panaroma City, Los Angeles, California, to Robert and Barbara Cameron. While her father worked as a gym teacher, her mother was employed as a talent manager. She has an elder brother, Kirk Cameron who is an actor.

With her brother already in the field of entertainment, it was natural for Candace to follow suit. At the age of five, she started her journey as an actor. Her first pit stop was appearing in a number of television commercials.

Candace Cameron Bure made several guest appearances early on in her career in television series including ‘St. Elsewhere’, ‘Growing Pains’, and ‘Who's the Boss?’. She also starred in the sitcom ‘Punky Brewster’ and teen comedy ‘Some Kind of Wonderful’.

In 1987, she bagged the role of Donna Jo ‘DJ’ Tanner the oldest daughter in the coming-of-age sitcom on ABC ‘Full House’. The series was a major hit and lasted for eight seasons and 192 episodes finally ending in 1995. Candace remained a member of the ensemble cast during the entire run.
