Childhood & Early Life
Victor Webster was born in Calgary, Alberta, on February 7, 1973, to John Webster and Roswitha. Victor was a mischievous teenager and often got into serious trouble. Following repeated complaints from his school and neighborhood, his father got him enrolled at a martial arts school. This was done in order to channelize his energy elsewhere.
Victor’s father was a police officer and his mother worked as a hairstylist. A few years after he was born, the family moved to San Clemente, where Victor completed high school.
Apart from training in martial arts, Victor was also interested in theater. Once he graduated from high school, he resumed his studies at the ‘Saddleback Junior College.’
He earned a heavyweight black belt in ‘Tae kwon do’ and to make ends meet, he started teaching martial arts. However, his career goal was not defined yet. He slowly lost interest in martial arts and decided to pursue acting as a career option.
It was not easy for him to break into acting. He had to work as a stockbroker while he tried becoming an established actor. He also worked in a major import/export company.
Victor travelled across the world in search of inspiration, as he was highly confused about his career. Eventually, he joined acting classes and also worked in a few commercials, before finally deciding that acting was his true calling.
Soon, he started working as a model and made an appearance in the 1998 special issue of ‘Cosmopolitan’ magazine, titled ‘All About Men.’ He also appeared on the cover of ‘Playgirl’ magazine. He moved to Los Angeles and started auditioning for roles, and luckily enough, his initial struggle did not last very long.
Career
By 1997, Victor had already made his acting debut with a minor role in the series ‘Sunset Beach.’ He had a three-episode long appearance, which was not bad for a newcomer.
It was the daytime opera ‘Days of Our Lives’ that finally brought him national recognition in 1999. He became the second actor to portray the iconic role of ‘Nicholas Alaiman.’ The show received immense critical acclaim. His stint in the show ended in 2000, and he moved on to play smaller roles in series such as ‘Baywatch’ and ‘Becker.’
In 2000, he played a minor role in the film ‘Gangland.’ While waiting for another major career breakthrough, he auditioned and got selected for the role of a mutant, ‘Brennan Mulwray,’ in the series ‘Mutant X,’ in 2001. The series was a science-fiction drama, which told the story of people equipped with supernatural powers. The series ran for three seasons, before being cancelled abruptly.
By then, he had gained national recognition and the icing on the cake was his inclusion in ‘People’ magazine’s ‘50 Most Eligible Bachelors’ list, in 2002. The same year, he appeared in a direct-to-video film, titled ‘Wishmaster: The Prophecy Fulfilled.’
In 2003, he made a guest appearance in an episode of ‘Sex and the City’ and played the role of ‘Glen’ in the comedy ‘Bringing Down the House.’
2005 was a busy year for Victor. He appeared in the film ‘Dirty Love’ and then, was seen playing some key roles in series such as ‘Las Vegas,’ ‘Inconceivable,’ and ‘Noah’s Arc.’
In 2006, the action-comedy series ‘Related’ offered him the chance to play a key character, ‘Marco.’ Although he had a guest appearance on the show, his portrayal received immense accolades. The same year, he played an eight-episode role in the series ‘Charmed’ and also appeared in the series ‘Reba.’
In 2007, he appeared in two crime dramas, ‘CSI: Miami’ and ‘NCIS.’ He also did a TV science-fiction film ‘Sands of Oblivion’ and played the role of ‘Dr. Christian Mario’ in the series ‘Lincoln Heights.’
Victor had a recurring role in the series ‘Melrose Place’ as ‘Caleb Brewer’ and followed it up with the villainous role of a con artist-turned-serial killer in ‘Criminal Minds.’ He also starred in the murder mystery ‘Harper’s Island.’ Thus, it seemed that Victor was finally experimenting with different characters in order to locate his comfort zone.
All through 2010 and 2011, he appeared in several guest roles, spanning across many TV series such as ‘Bones,’ ‘Castle,’ ‘NCIS: Los Angeles,’ and ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.’ At the same time, he also appeared in the film ‘Burning Palms.’
In 2012, he was selected to play one of the lead roles in the series ‘Continuum.’ The science-fiction series revolved around the complexities of time travel and starred Victor as ‘Carlos Fonnegra,’ a detective. The series earned universal critical acclaim and was commercially successful too. It earned several nominations and awards at the ‘Leo Awards’ and the ‘Constellation Awards.’
By the year 2013, Victor had become a known face in the industry and was offered major roles in both theatrical and TV films. While ‘Continuum’ ran successfully until 2015, Victor became part of projects such as ‘Puppy Love,’ ‘A Good Man,’ and ‘Embrace of the Vampire.’
In 2015, he appeared in the direct-to-video period epic ‘The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power’ and played a major role in the critically acclaimed film ‘The Dying of the Light.’ The same year, he played guest roles in the series’ ‘Mom’ and ‘Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce.’
Of late, his collaborations with ‘Hallmark Channel’ have grown in number. His association with ‘Hallmark’ began with the 2015 film ‘The Magic Stocking,’ and flourished through 2016 and 2017, with ‘Summer Villa,’ ‘A Harvest Wedding,’ ‘Love Blossoms,’ and ‘Home for Christmas Day.’
Personal Life
Victor Webster has had several relationships with his co-actors. In the late 90s, his relationship with Krista Allen was in the news for quite some time.
He is also said to have been in relationships with Katie Cleary, Katrina Darrell, and Monica Hansen. At present, he is believed to be single.
