The band, which also had his friends Spencer Smith, Brent Wilson, and Brendon Urie as members, has released a total of five studio albums till date. Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the United States, Ross aspired to be a great singer from his childhood. He started practicing music at the age of 12 after he received a guitar as a Christmas present. His career began officially in 2004 after he formed the band ‘Panic! at the Disco’ along with his best friend Spencer Smith. After having worked on two studio albums with the band, he later joined the band ‘The Young Veins’. The band’s debut studio album ‘Take a Vacation!’ was released in 2010. Childhood & Early Life

George Ryan Ross III was born in a middle-class family on 30 August 1986, in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the US. His father’s name was Ryan Ross II, and his mother’s name is Danielle Ross.

His parents separated when he was still a child, which led to Ross experiencing a difficult childhood. His father was an alcoholic which only added more misery to his suffering.

He attended Bishop Gorman High School where he was also involved in various musical programs. He also won a few awards. After completing his schooling, he went to the University of Nevada for higher education. There he did a creative writing course to develop his skills in writing songs.

Career

Ryan Ross’s official career began in 2004 after he formed the band ‘Panic! at the Disco’, with his childhood friends Spencer Smith, Brent Wilson, and Brendon Urie. Its first demos were recorded while they were still in high school. The band was heavily influenced by the 1960s rock bands, the Beatles, the Zombies, and the Beach Boys.

Their debut album ‘A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out’ was released in September 2005. Along with being the lead guitarist, and backing vocalist, Ross was also the writer of the lyrics. The album deals with several social issues. Though initially it stood at No. 112 on the Billboard 200 album chart, later it rose to No. 13.

The band’s second studio album ‘Pretty. Odd.’ was released in March 2008. It stood at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200. It also performed well commercially, selling 54,000 copies on the first day itself and 139,000 copies, within a week in the US.

Although Ross left the band a year after the release of the album, he wrote one of the songs for the band’s next album ‘Vices & Virtues’. Later he joined ‘The Young Veins,’ a California based rock band.

The band’s debut studio album ‘Take a Vacation!’ was released in June 2010. It received mostly positive reviews. However, a lot of similarities were noted between this album and Ross’s previous one ‘Pretty. Odd.’

Soon after, Ross felt that the band was losing its popularity and significance, and thus he decided to leave the band for good. He started a solo career, and since then, has released a few singles through his SoundCloud page.
