Olajide Olatunji opened his now-popular YouTube account on July 24, 2009 with a video about the FIFA video game franchise. The videos show him playing games created by FIFA at his parent’s home in Watford. He then uploads the video to YouTube where it is watched many times over. In real life he is just the opposite of his controversial digital self. He is down to earth and polite and completely obsessed with video gaming. He never thought of becoming a celebrity at any time. He watched people earning a lot of money by uploading videos on the YouTube. He also wanted to upload videos like others to earn just enough money to get along somehow. As an avid video gamer, he could only think of creating videos of the games he played. He chose FIFA’s video games which he liked best for his subject and started uploading the videos of the games he played to the internet. He never thought that it would become as big as it is now. Today he earns in millions and his current net worth is estimated to be over $3 million.

Just in his twenties, Olajide Olatunji is one of the most popular superstars of the digital media in UK. He has been able to get more than 14 million people to subscribe to his two YouTube channels. At this young age he is the proud owner of two very expensive cars, one of which is an orange colored Lamborghini which can be seen parked in front of his residence in Kent. He has become so popular playing the FIFA video game that he gets the chance to meet real-life football players which is the dream of every youngster in England. He even received an invitation from the former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand to play the FIFA video game with him at his restaurant to promote a YouTube channel. He has played the FIFA video game with Kieran Gibbs of Arsenal, Wojciech Szczesny and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also.

Olajide Olatunji’s meteoric rise is not without controversies. He has been criticized very strongly because of his actions during the ‘Eurogamer’ event in 2012 in which he was accused of sexually harassing the female attendees. He was banned from attending any ‘Eurogamer’ event in the future and the controversy became severe involving many parties. An apology was issued by his manager later citing his inexperience and young age though people still have the doubt that Olatunji has not learnt any lesson from the incident. Though this controversy has tarnished his image forever, there seems to be no dearth of firms lining up to sign him up. He is also into music and films in a big way.

Olajide Olatunji’s parents are believed to have Nigerian roots. He was not interested in going to school and having to cram the lessons he received into his head. He told his teacher that he was making more than £1,500 per month by playing video games which was more than what the teacher got as salary. His parents were furious when they heard that he was quitting school and thought it to be the dumbest thing that anyone could do. At present they are reconciled to the fact that their son is earning millions of pounds and even take part in some of his videos. He was able to pay the cost of the house where his parents live and thinks that it is the best thing that he could do for them.
