Noel Fielding is an English comedian, actor, artist, writer, and musician. He is best recognized as a member of the comedy troupe “The Mighty Boosh” alongside Julian Barratt. He began doing stand-up comedy in the late 1990s and established The Mighty Boosh during this time. He, along with his comedy partner, then went on to produce a radio series, ‘The Boosh,’ which was followed by the TV series, ‘The Mighty Boosh’ that ran on BBC3 from 2004 to 2007. Till date, Fielding has also appeared in a number of other comedy shows. He has done numerous TV programs as a co-presenter as well. In addition, he has been featured in several music videos, the popular ones being Razorlight’s "In the Morning" and Kate Bush’s "Deeper Understanding". Born and raised in London, Fielding was educated at the Croydon School of Art and Buckinghamshire New University. Also a skilled artist, he has had his work displayed in a number of exhibitions. Childhood & Early Life

Noel Fielding was born on 21 May 1973 in City of Westminster, London, England to Dianne Fielding and Ray Fielding. His brother is Michael Fielding, an actor and comedian who plays Naboo the Enigma in the series ‘The Mighty Boosh.’ He also plays various characters in the show ‘Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy.’

He studied at Croydon School of Art in South London. He then went on to study graphic design and advertising from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College (currently known as Buckinghamshire New University), graduating in 1995.

Career in Comedy

Noel Fielding began his career as a stand-up comedian in the late 1990s, performing regularly and appearing repeatedly in the TV stand-up showcase ‘Lee Mack's Gas.’

In 2010, he participated in Channel 4's benefit show ‘Comedy Gala’ that was held to support Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. He then went on to take part in the same event in the year 2014.

Television Career

In 2003, Noel Fielding began appearing in the comedy series ‘The Mighty Boosh’ alongside his comedy troupe partner Julian Barratt.

In this show, he played several characters, including his breakthrough role of Vince Noir. Apart from Noir, he also played other supporting characters, such as The Hitcher, a cockney hitch-hiker; Tony Harrison, a pink head with tentacles; and Spider Dijon, a bongoist in Rudi's band.

Outside his work on ‘The Mighty Boosh,’ Noel Fielding has also performed comedy in other TV shows including ‘Nathan Barley,’ ‘AD/BC: A Rock Opera,’ ‘The IT Crowd’ and ‘Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.’

During 2006 and 2007, he participated in an annual quiz show titled ‘The Big Fat Quiz of the Year.’ During this time, he also appeared in ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ and ‘The Charlotte Church Show.’

In 2008, he got featured in the television series ‘Transmission’. He next co-hosted ‘Comic Relief Does Top of the Pops’ alongside Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates in 2009.

In 2010, he played Marcus in ‘How Not to Live Your Life.’ Soon after this, he produced his first solo series titled ‘Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy’ for E4 channel.

In March 2017, it was announced that Fielding would host the series ‘The Great British Bake Off’ with Sandi Toksvig; the series began in August the same year. He also appeared in the comedy panel game ‘Taskmaster’ the same year. After this, he appeared as a panellist on ‘QI.’

Film Career

In 1999, Noel Fielding was cast as “Brothel Gent” in the British historical action comedy movie ‘Plunkett & Macleane’. Ten years later, he played Javier in the British comedy flick ‘Bunny and the Bull’.

He starred as Ed Banger in the 3D children's adventure comedy movie ‘Horrid Henry: The Movie’ in 2011. In 2015, the actor played Carl in the film ‘Aaaaaaaah!’ and Dickie in the flick ‘Set the Thames on Fire’ respectively.

Musical Career

Noel Fielding has appeared in numerous music videos till date. In 2000, he appeared in Midfield General’s "Midfielding". After this, he appeared in Mint Royale's "Blue Song" and Razorlight's "In the Morning".

He has appeared in videos for the Robots in Disguise songs "The Tears", "Girl" and "Turn It Up". In 2009, he played the titular character in Kasabian’s video "Vlad the Impaler". He has also done other music videos for the band, including "Re-Wired" and "You're in Love with a Psycho".

In 2011, the English artist appeared in Kate Bush's "Deeper Understanding".

He often plays bass live for the band Robots in Disguise. He also serves as a DJ who frequently plays at The Barfly in London with Team Disgusting and sometimes with the rest of The Mighty Boosh.

Noel Fielding’s first exhibition ‘Psychedelic Dreams of the Jelly Fox’ was held in early 2008 at Maison Bertaux, Soho. His second exhibition "Bryan Ferry vs the Jelly Fox" was held at Maison Bertaux, from July 2010 to January 2011.

In October 2011, he released his art book 'Scribblings of a Madcap Shambleton'. The book features his paintings, photography, and drawings.

Fielding came up with his video installation of 'The Jelly Fox' that was shown at the Saatchi Gallery. In 2012, he developed a unique piece to be showcased at the Museum of Liverpool.

In March 2015, his exhibition titled 'He Wore Dreams Around Unkind Faces' was held at the Royal Albert Hall.
