Lukas Rieger is a German pop singer from Hannover whose music is exclusively in English. He got a start from ‘The Voice Kids Germany’, a TV music talent show for children in the age group 8-14 years. Though he couldn’t make it to the final round, the show gave him enough exposure and experience, and a better understanding of the music industry. Rieger began to build up a solid and loyal fan base on various social media platforms. Now he has a massively successful account on Musical.ly, the social network app for video creation, messaging, and live broadcasting, with over 2.6 million fans. His YouTube channel, launched on April 14, 2014, has 438k subscribers and 23 million views. He has 1.8 million followers on Instagram, and more than 319k people have liked and follow his Facebook page. On 15 November 2014, he released his first single ‘Be My Baby’. Career
Lukas Rieger auditioned in 2014 to compete in the season 2 of ‘The Voice Kids’. In the blind auditions in episode 2, broadcast on 28 March 2014, he sang Macklemore’s ‘Can't Hold Us’. Only Lena Meyer-Landrut (professionally known as Lena) turned her chair, while the other two judges, Johannes Strate and Henning Wehland, refrained. Lena accepted him in her team and coached him. He also performed ‘Lifted’ by ‘Naughty Boy’ alongside fellow contestants Naomi and Selma while on the show. He was eliminated before the finals. While Rieger accepts the important role the show played in building his fame, he asserts that he would rather be a musician than take part in any other talent show.
Rieger collaborated with another ‘The Voice Kids’ alumnus, Mike Singer, on the song, ‘Diamonds & Pearls’, the music video of which was posted on his channel on August 28, 2014. The video of their second collaboration, ‘Ready 4 This Shit’ was posted in January, 2015. In the same month, Rieger and Singer along with Abhinav Singh and Keanrah (also known as Keanu Rapp) sang the cover of Meghan Trainor´s Song ‘Lips are Movin’.
Lukas Rieger’s first solo single ‘Be My Baby’, was released through ‘Miami-Blue Records’ on November 15, 2014, and was produced by Vichy Ratey. He performed one of his singles, ‘Lightspeed Lovers’ at ‘Video Days Köln’ in 2015. He released the track ‘Elevate’ on May 20, 2016.
He launched his debut pop album ‘Compass’ through ‘Jetpack Music’ record label on September 30, 2016. The album has 18 tracks, and opened at number 4 spot on the ‘Germany Albums’ chart.
During a meet-and-greet event at the Blautal Center in Ulm, Germany, which was attended by more than a thousand of Rieger’s fans, about 30 girls fainted in the crowd, and a number of them had to be treated for respiratory and circulatory problems. The police was forced to put a stop to the event.

Lukas Rieger was born on June 3, 1999, in Lehrte, a town in the district of Hannover in the German state of Lower Saxony, to parents Michael and Birgit Rieger. His mother is a music teacher and can play several instruments. His father plays guitar. Rieger has attributed his talent and interest in music to both his parents, as growing up he used to sing and perform with his family. He has a sister named Marie.
In school, music was always his favourite subject, but English came a close second. However, he had to leave school to pursue his career. He is currently training as a media designer at ‘JetPack Films’, which is a film production company.
