Kaelynn Gobert-Harris - Female Dancers, Career and Childhood

Kaelynn Gobert-Harris is a child prodigy. She commenced her dancing career at the tender age of five when she was handpicked for the dance team of ‘The Los Angeles Sparks’, a professional Los Angeles basketball team playing in the Women's National Basketball Association’s Western Conference. She soon impressed everyone with her moves and became a regular member of the ‘Los Angeles Sparks’ dance team, where she performed for four years during which, she laid the foundation of her dancing career and started honing her personal style. By the time she was 12 years old, Kaelynn was a widely recognized name in the dance circuit and had won numerous honors and scholarships, including the very prestigious ‘Pulse Elite Protégé’ scholarship that is given to very select dancing talent after a nationwide hunt.

Kay Kay became even more of a public figure after she was chosen to become a member of the ‘Monsters of Hip Hop’ cast that gave her the opportunity of traveling all over the country, assisting renowned choreographers of the likes of Brian Friedman, Dave Scott, Laurie Ann Gibson, Wade Robson, Tyce Diorio, and Tessandra Chavez. Rubbing shoulders with choreographers of eminence also gave her the opportunity of working with mega dancing stars like Sade, Fergie, Pharrell, Willow Smith, Usher, Soulja Boy, Missy Elliott, Queen Latifah, Mindless Behavior, Gwen Stefani, Cicely Tyson, Ciara, Diggy Simmons, Jacob Latimore, and Britney Spears.

By this time, Kaelynn Gobert-Harris was already a very well-known dancer; her reputation and resume became even more impressive after she performed in widely popular TV shows like ‘Glee’, ‘X Factor’, MTV’s ‘Video Music Awards’, ‘BET Awards’, ‘The Voice’, as well as films like ‘Rango’ and ‘Ice Age’. Kaelyn has also successfully worked with artists such as Mindless Behavior, Soulja Boy, and Megan and Liz on several projects including music videos.

She was also a regular on the Disney and Nickelodeon channels and made an appearance in a commercial for Macy’s. With her sharp and clean execution of dance moves, creative dance movements, and an incredibly versatile style, she became a sensation with videos of her dance moves going viral on the internet.

She is the recipient of several awards such as Industry Voice Awards’ ‘Top Ten Child Prodigy’ award, ‘Best Dancer’ award from ‘Young Black Starz’, ‘National X-strut Baton Champion’, ‘Miss Summertime 2008’, and the ‘Youth Choreographer of the Year’ award from ‘World of Dance’.

Competing in the 2012 edition of MTV’s ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’, her dance crew ‘8 FLAVAHZ’ wowed audiences every week with entertaining and complex choreography and successfully reached the final, where, unfortunately, it had to be content with the second spot. The achievement was all the more commendable as the crew was by far the youngest all-female team to have ever participated in the competition.

The all-female ‘8 Flavahz’ dance crew was originally based in Honolulu, Hawaii and later shifted based to Los Angeles, California. Earlier, the group comprised of eight female members of ‘24VII’, a Hawaiian dance studio was known as ‘Flavahs Crew’. Interestingly, ‘Flavahs Crew’ had auditioned for Season Six of ‘America's Best Dance Crew’ but did not qualify. The twin Rapp sisters, Tiara and Tamara, along with Camren Bicondova, and Summer Waikiki met Jaira Miller, Angel Gibbs, Charlize Glass, and Kaelynn Gobert-Harris at a dance convention in Los Angeles and decided to come together as a group by the name of ‘Flavahs and Friends’. The eight girls participated in the ‘World of Dance Hawaii’ competition and managed to come third.

After the conclusion of the event, the four Hawaiian girls and the four LA girls came together in the group, ‘8 Flavahz’, that created waves the very next year by coming second in the ‘America's Best Dance Crew’ competition.

After the widespread public recognition following her success in MTV’s ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’, she became an extremely sought-after dancer, choreographer, and dance instructor. Besides conducting dance classes in several countries, she also became the brand ambassador and spokesperson for a number of apparel and entertainment brands like ‘Simple Mobile’, ‘Vlado’, ‘Boom Phones’, ‘World of Dance’, Kohl’s, ‘Monster Headphones’, ‘Abercrombie’, ‘Hollister’ and ‘Instabrand’.

Currently, Kaelynn Gobert-Harris performs all over the world as a principal dancer for the tours and stage shows of ‘Usher’. She also tours a lot for ‘Pulse’ holding workshops all over America to teach original and imaginative choreography and meeting a multitude of her fans.

Born on November 30, 1995, in Los Angeles, California to a single mother, Kaelynn Gobert-Harris has kept her personal life completely under wraps, something that’s fairly unusual for such a public figure. Nothing is known about her parents and family, though she has admitted that she is very close to her elder sister. A dancing star since the age of just five, her educational background is also unknown. A self-confessed admirer of Janet Jackson, Kaelynn has reportedly never taken a single dance class in her life and says that her prodigious talent is a result of close attention to videos on YouTube.
