Chris Jansing, born as Christine Ann Kapostasy, is an American journalist. She currently serves as the senior national correspondent for NBC News’ cable division MSNBC as a breaking news anchor. Earlier she served the network as its senior White House correspondent. She has also hosted the MSNBC show titled ‘Jansing and Company’ in the past. Talking about Jansing’s awards and honors, she received an Emmy Award for covering the 1996 Olympic Park bombing in Atlanta. Also, The New York State Broadcasters Association once awarded the journalist the "Best Person" award for the latter’s report on hunger in New York State. In July 2016, she became an inductee of the New York State Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame. On a personal note, Jansing is a divorcee. However, she continues to use her former husband’s surname even after their separation. The beautiful and charming journalist loves to cook desserts in her leisure time. Career
Chris Jansing began her journalistic career as an intern at a local cable station in Ohio. She then was hired by the radio station WIPS of New York. After working there for some time, she went on to serve as a general assignment reporter for the WNYT television based in New York. Jansing stayed at WNYT for a long period of 17 years and rose to become a weekend anchor followed by a weekly co-anchor. While at the network, she also covered the Olympic Park bombing that took place in Atlanta during the Olympic Games.
In 1998, she was hired by NBC News. Since then, the American journalist has served as a substitute anchor for MSNBC’s ‘The Today Show’. She has also anchored the Sunday broadcast of ‘NBC Nightly News’. In the year 2008, Jansing moved to Los Angeles and worked there as a field reporter for almost two years before returning as an anchor in 2010.
Then in 2014, she became the network’s senior White House correspondent. Before acquiring this position, she also co-anchored the weekday morning news show ‘Jansing and Company’. On June 1, 2017, the American journalist was named the senior national correspondent for MSNBC.

Chris Jansing was born as Christine Ann Kapostasy on January 30, 1957, in Fairport Harbor, Ohio, USA, to Tilly and Joseph Kapostasy as the youngest of their 12 children. She attended Otterbein College and graduated from there in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Talking about her love life, Jansing married chemist Robert Jansing in 1982. Unfortunately the couple divorced a few years later. However, the American journalist continues to use her ex-husband’s surname “Jansing” professionally as she believes that it is easier for the audience to pronounce.
