Who is Audrey Tautou?

Audrey Justine Tautou is a French actress and model who rose to international fame with her portrayal of a shy, eccentric waitress in the romantic comedy, ‘Amelie’, which won her several awards and accolades. Often compared to Audrey Hepburn because of her beauty, charisma and acting skills, Tautou is the perfect combination of good looks and talents. Acting did not seem like a likely career choice for the pretty dark-haired girl who hailed from a family of intellectuals; her father was a dental surgeon while mother was a teacher. She somehow caught the acting bug while at school and decided to become a professional actress. She attended acting classes at the Cours Florent and soon landed a role in television movie production ‘Coeur de cible’. She made her feature film debut with ‘Venus Beauty Institute’ for which she was much appreciated. The daring actress likes to experiment with a variety of roles and has acted in different genres of films ranging from the romantic comedy ‘Amelie’ to the thriller, ‘Dirty Pretty Things’. A native of France, she appeared in a number of French films before making her Hollywood debut with Tom Hanks in the film, ‘The Da Vinci Code’. As a model she is held in high regard for her dressing sense and is considered a fashionista.
