Career
Sophie Marceau made her acting debut in 1980 with the French comedy flick ‘La Boum’. The following year, she recorded a song "Dream in Blue" with François Valéry. She next starred in the sequel of La Boum titled ‘La Boum 2’. Her performance in this film earned her the 1983 César Award for the Most Promising Actress.
In 1984, she appeared in the historical drama ‘Fort Saganne’ alongside Catherine Deneuve and Gérard Depardieu. That year, the actress also acted in the film ‘Joyeuses Pâques’ (Happy Easter). Soon after this, she did the movies ‘L'amour braque’ and ‘Police’. Then in 1986, Marceau was cast in the flick ‘Descente aux enfers’ (in English - Descent Into Hell). Two years later, she got featured in the historical adventure movie ‘Chouans’ as well as in the comedy film ‘L'Étudiante’ (The Student). She went on to play a role in her then-boyfriend Andrzej Zulawski’s film ‘My Nights Are More Beautiful Than Your Days’
