Seth Rollins - Professional Wrestler, Life Achievements and Family

Seth Rollins was born Colby Daniel Lopez in Buffalo, Iowa, on 28th May, 1986. He has American, German, and Irish ancestry.

His real last name, Lopez, comes from his stepfather who had a Mexican-American descent. His ring name is Seth Rollins. The Rollins part comes as a tribute to Henry Rollins, the famous former Black Flag singer. Colby is a huge fan of him.

Colby was a total introvert as a young guy. He carried out a normal life until his wrestling career. He loved Rock Music since his childhood.

Colby’s wrestling career started in 2005 under the mentorship of Danny Daniels when he first entered to play the Ted Petty Invitational Tournament for Scott County Wrestling (SCW). Although he was eliminated in the QFs, he later conquered the title of the Champion and marked his prize belt black to mark the “The Black Era” in SCW.

Later, he joined the NWA Midwest and teamed along with Marek Brown to defend the tile successfully.

He made brief appearances in TNA Wrestling, Full Impact Pro, and Pro Wrestling Guerilla.

He was known as Tyler Black then and soon became a part of the ROH (Ring of Honor) along with teammates Jimmy Jacobs and Necro Butcher. In 2007, they collectively won the ROH Tag Team Championship. After losing to the then popular wrestler McGuiness, Jacobs broke the partnership with Colby (Tyler). However, in June 2008, Tyler defeated Jimmy Jacobs in a steel cage match.

In September 2009, he defeated several wrestlers like Chris Hero, Colt Cabana and Austin Aries to win the title of ROH World Championship. He defended his title seven consecutive times before losing it to Roderick Strong in 2010.

In 2010, Colby joined WWE under the ring name Seth Rollins. He defeated Trent Barreta in his debut match. On Jan 13th in 2011, he won the inaugural FCW 15 Championship.

After getting involved in a feud with Dean Ambrose, Rollins fought with him three consecutive times for a draw. The final time, he won against Dean pinning him on 3-2. Later, he lost his title to Damien Sandow as Ambrose intervened to beat up Sandow and disqualify Rollins.

He was featured in John Cena’s gym video and won the FCW Heavyweight Championship. Later, when FCW was transformed into NXT, he won the Gold Rush Tournament by defeating Jinder Mahal in the finals.

Rollins debuted alongside Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, where they attacked Ryback to allow CM Punk pin John Cena himself. The trio started calling themselves ‘The Shield’. It was later revealed that CM Punk had quietly associated The Shield with himself. However, later, The Shield decided to end this and started playing independently.

The Shield continued its journey together beating many superstars in six tag team matches. However, their run was ended in 2014 when Triple H asked Rollins to attack his teammates and join ‘The Authority’.

Later in 2014, Rollins won the Money in the Bank contract after Kane helped him defeat Ambrose in a ladder match.

Rollins played a Triple threat match with John Cena and Brock Lesnar, which was won by Brock Lesnar. However, Rollins cashed his Money in the Bank contract to convert a match between Lesnar and Reigns into a triple threat and won it by pinning Reigns and acquiring the tile of World Heavyweight Champion.

He won the United States Championship after defeating John Cena in August 2014. He was the first man to win both the titles simultaneously.

In early November 2014, he had a knee injury and was asked to rest for 6 to 8 months.

He made a return in a match with reigns and again won the Heavyweight Championship title. However, he lost it minutes later to Ambrose in another match.

He had a feud with Triple H and Samoa Joe in early 2017.

He made his video game debut in WWE 2K14, followed by 2K15, 2K16 and 2K17.

His made his film debut with ‘Sharknado: The 4th Awakens in 2016’. He is also a part of ‘The Jetsons’ and ‘WWE:RoboWrestleMania’. He is currently acting in the film ‘Armed Response’.

He appeared as himself in TV shows like ‘The Daily Show’ and ‘Extreme Makeover’ in 2015.

Rollins has won the Slammy Award 9 times in the WWE.

He also won awards like the Best Briefly Resuscitated Storyline, Most Painful Injury of the Year, Most Puzzling New Finisher, Most Smothered In-Ring Potential and the Runner-Up Wrestler of the Year in Rolling Stone.

Rollins won the ROH World Championship, ROH World Tag Team Championship, ROH World Tag Team Championship Tournament and the Survival of the Fittest in the ROH.

He successfully conquered the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship, FCW 15 Championship, FCW Florida Tag Team Championship and the First FCW Grand Slam Champion in the Florida Championship Wrestling.

He won the Feud of the Year, Most Hated Wrestler of the Year, Tag Team of the Year, Wrestler of the Year and was ranked No. 1 of the top 500 singles wrestlers in the PWI 500 in 2015.

In WWE, he was the WWE Tag Team Champion, WWE United States Champion, WWE World Heavyweight Champions and won the Money in the Bank.

He also won the WWE NXT Championship and Gold Rush Tournament.

Seth has no interest and faith in religion and God. He currently lives in Iowa.

His favorite sport if football and is a huge fan of Chicago Bears.

He had co-founded the ‘The Black &the Brave Wrestling Academy’, a professional wrestling school located in Moline, Illinois with Marek Brave, his former teammate.

Rollins dated his former NXT costar, Zahra Schreiber.

He was in a relationship with Leighla Schultz, but nude photos of Rollins’ rumored girlfriend on his social networking account led to their separation.

His favorite movie is Fight Club and draws inspiration from fellow wrestler, Shawn Michaels.

He is known to quote that People believe in future and they believe in him because he is the future.
