Career

After graduating from the university, Marissa Mazzola-McMahon worked in public relations for Dan Klores. From 1999 to 2000, she co-hosted WWF LiveWire with Michael Coulthard (stage name Michael Cole). Aired on USA Network and later TNN, the show allowed the viewers to phone-in and join the conversation with their favourite professional wrestling personalities.

Over the next few years, Mazzola-McMahon appeared sporadically on various WWE programs. She was featured on both RAW and Smackdown shows. She was also the director of public relations for WWE for a considerable period of time. She even guest-starred as a bird merchant in Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson’s ‘The Scorpion King’ (2002), a film produced by WWF Entertainment. However, unlike the rest of her family, she has never appeared inside the WWF ring.

In 2005, Mazzola-McMahon established Kamala Films. Its first release, a short film named ‘Quitters’, premiered on June 5, 2005. Starring Sergio Cacciotti, Jonathan Hemingway, and Michelle Marlowe, the movie depicts two friends combating their nicotine addictions in a bet against each other. Her first feature film as a producer was the 2007 crime thriller ‘Anamorph’. The film starred Willem Dafoe, Scott Speedman, and Peter Stormare, and was based on the concept of anamorphosis, a painting technique that manoeuvres the laws of perspective to create two contrasting images on a single canvas.

In 2012, she served as the executive producer for the critically acclaimed romance-drama ‘What Maisie Knew’. Directed by Scott McGehee and David Siegel, the film had a stellar cast which included Julianne Moore, Alexander Skarsgård, and Steve Coogan.

Mazzola-McMahon is producing the upcoming biographical war-drama ‘A Private War’ and romance drama ‘An Affair’.
