Marissa and Shane McMahon have known each other since childhood and dated since early adulthood. They wed on September 14, 1996. On February 13, 2004, she gave birth to their oldest son, Declan James McMahon. Their second son, Kenyon Jesse McMahon, was born on March 26, 2006. They had their youngest son Rogan McMahon on January 20, 2010.

After graduating from the university, Marissa Mazzola-McMahon worked in public relations for Dan Klores. From 1999 to 2000, she co-hosted WWF LiveWire with Michael Coulthard (stage name Michael Cole). Aired on USA Network and later TNN, the show allowed the viewers to phone-in and join the conversation with their favourite professional wrestling personalities.

Over the next few years, Mazzola-McMahon appeared sporadically on various WWE programs. She was featured on both RAW and Smackdown shows. She was also the director of public relations for WWE for a considerable period of time. She even guest-starred as a bird merchant in Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson’s ‘The Scorpion King’ (2002), a film produced by WWF Entertainment. However, unlike the rest of her family, she has never appeared inside the WWF ring.

In 2005, Mazzola-McMahon established Kamala Films. Its first release, a short film named ‘Quitters’, premiered on June 5, 2005. Starring Sergio Cacciotti, Jonathan Hemingway, and Michelle Marlowe, the movie depicts two friends combating their nicotine addictions in a bet against each other. Her first feature film as a producer was the 2007 crime thriller ‘Anamorph’. The film starred Willem Dafoe, Scott Speedman, and Peter Stormare, and was based on the concept of anamorphosis, a painting technique that manoeuvres the laws of perspective to create two contrasting images on a single canvas.

In 2012, she served as the executive producer for the critically acclaimed romance-drama ‘What Maisie Knew’. Directed by Scott McGehee and David Siegel, the film had a stellar cast which included Julianne Moore, Alexander Skarsgård, and Steve Coogan.
