Kathryn Hunter Harrold is a retired American actress who is currently serving as a counselor in Los Angeles, California. The former actress is known for playing important roles in films like ‘Nightwing’, ‘The Hunter’, ‘The Sender’, ‘Modern Romance’, and ‘Raw Deal’. Harrold had also been a part of several popular shows on television during her 35 years long acting career; her TV appearances include the shows ‘I'll Fly Away’, ‘Chicago Hope’, ‘King of the Hill’, ‘Desperate Housewives’ and ‘Greek’. Over the course of her long career she has appeared alongside some of the most iconic people in the entertainment industry including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Luciano Pavarotti, and Steve McQueen. Career
Kathryn Harrold’s first ever appearance in the show business was in 1975 when she played the role of ‘Nola Dancy Aldrich’ in ‘The Doctors’, an American television soap opera starring James Pritchett, Elizabeth Hubbard, and David O'Brien. She played the role for two years before being replaced by Kathleen Turner. She then appeared in a couple of television movies and one television show before getting her first lead role in a film.
She appeared in ‘Nightwing’, a 1979 American horror film based on the 1977 novel of the same title by Martin Cruz Smith, playing the character of ‘Anne Dillon’. In 1980 she appeared in ‘The Hunter’, an American thriller film directed by Buzz Kulik, playing the lead female character opposite the legendary actor Steve McQueen; it was also the actor’s last film before he died. After the success of ‘The Hunter,’ Harrold established herself among the elites in the show business.
The next few years saw her making lead appearances in films like ‘Modern Romance’ (1981), an American comedy film directed by Albert Brooks; ‘The Pursuit of D. B. Cooper’ (1981), an American crime thriller film based on the infamous hijacker D. B. Cooper; and ‘Yes, Giorgio’ (1982), appearing opposite Luciano Pavarotti. Harrold appeared in a lead role in ‘The Sender’, an American horror film, playing the character of ‘Gail Farmer’.
In the mid-1980s, she acted in several films and television shows like ‘An Uncommon Love’, ‘Heartbreakers’, ‘Into the Night’, and ‘MacGruder and Loud.’ She appeared in a lead role opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in ‘Raw Deal’, an American action film directed by John Irvin in 1986. In the next two decades, Harrold focused only on television shows and television movies. In 1993, she appeared in all the eighteen episodes of ‘The Larry Sanders Show’ as ‘Francine Sanders’.

Kathryn Harrold was born in Tazewell, Virginia, on August 2, 1950, to Carolyn Harrold and B. H. Harrold. She went to Tazewell High School in Tazewell in her early years and later enrolled at the Mills College in Oakland, California where she majored in drama.
Harrold married Lawrence O'Donnell, the former Democratic Chief of Staff for the Senate Finance Committee, on February 14, 1994. They later got divorced in 2013. They have a daughter together named Elizabeth Buckley Harrold O'Donnell.
