Kathryn Harrold’s first ever appearance in the show business was in 1975 when she played the role of ‘Nola Dancy Aldrich’ in ‘The Doctors’, an American television soap opera starring James Pritchett, Elizabeth Hubbard, and David O'Brien. She played the role for two years before being replaced by Kathleen Turner. She then appeared in a couple of television movies and one television show before getting her first lead role in a film.

She appeared in ‘Nightwing’, a 1979 American horror film based on the 1977 novel of the same title by Martin Cruz Smith, playing the character of ‘Anne Dillon’. In 1980 she appeared in ‘The Hunter’, an American thriller film directed by Buzz Kulik, playing the lead female character opposite the legendary actor Steve McQueen; it was also the actor’s last film before he died.
