Childhood & Early Life
Daniel Jason Sudeikis was born to Daniel Joseph Sudeikis and Kathryn Sudeikis on September 18, 1975 in Fairfax, Virginia. His father was a high ranking executive in a company while his mother was employed as a travel agent. Sudeikis’ mother is actor George Wendt’s sister.
The family moved to Overland Park in Kansas when Jason Sudeikis was still a child and he studied at the local schools there, namely, Brookridge Elementary School and Holy Cross Cathedral. His high school education initially started at Jesuit Rockhurst High School in the year 1990 but he enrolled in Shawnee Mission West High School later on.
The state of Kansas was something that inspired Sudeikis and the sort of work that he did in his career as a comedian. The state has had a profound effect on him as an artist and he has often brought up references to the state during his performances as a comedian.
Career
Sudeikis started his career as a comedian in his home state of Kansas and it was at ComedySportz located in Kansas City where he first started performing. Following the success of his stint at ComedySport, he decided to move to Chicago and there he joined the famous ImprovOlympic theatre in order to learn the craft.
In the early years of the new millennium Jason Sudeikis became a part of The Second City’s National Touring Company and later on went on to establish the Las Vegas branch. He became one of the most popular comedians of the time and it was not long before the producers of ‘Saturday Night Live’ took notice.
In 2003, Jason Sudeikis became a writer for the cult classic show ‘Saturday Night Live’ and he stayed with the show for a whole decade. During his association with the show he became one of its most important members as he graduated from being a writer to a performer and eventually he was given repertory status.
Sudeikis ventured into television in the year 2007 and appeared as a recurring character in the popular comedy show ’30 Rock’. The next year he was cast in the Cameron Diaz comedy ‘What Happens in Vegas’ and in the same year Sudeikis appeared in the online show ‘The Line’. In the meantime, he also lent his voice to the hugely popular video game ‘Grand Theft Auto IV’
The year 2010 was a particularly productive one for Jason Sudeikis as he got a role in the Gerald Butler-Jennifer Aniston starrer ‘The Bounty Hunter’ and also played a pivotal character in the comedy ‘Horrible Bosses’. The following year he starred in another comedy titled ‘Hail Pass’ with Owen Wilson and also hosted the MTV Movie Awards.
In 2012, Jason Sudeikis was cast as a character in ‘Eastbound and Down’ and although it was a recurring role, his work was appreciated. Two years later, Sudeikis starred in the sequel ‘Horrible Bosses 2’ and the film was a success in the box office.
