Eric Allan Kramer - Actors, Life Achievements and Family

Eric was born on March 26, 1962, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, US. His father, Roger Kramer, was a ‘Canadian Football League’ player. Eric was a heavily built child and people expected him to follow in his father’s footsteps.

He graduated from ‘Jasper Place High School’ in Alberta, Canada, and earned his BFA degree from the ‘University of Alberta’ in Edmonton. While in university, he appeared in a number of minor roles both in films and on TV. At the same time, he developed an interest in fight choreography.

He was a regular at the gym and had learnt a bit of martial arts, too. He ultimately moved to Los Angeles on the advice of a friend named Gary Sandy and decided to make a full-time career in the entertainment industry.

In 1987, Kramer made his debut as an actor in the western TV movie ‘The Gunfighters,’ which featured him as ‘Luke Collins.’ This was followed by his appearance as the fictional superhero ‘Thor’ in the ‘NBC’ TV movie ‘The Incredible Hulk Returns’ the following year. He received positive reviews for his physique in both the movies.

In his early career, he mainly focused on TV. He appeared in the series ‘Murder, She Wrote,’ ‘Roseanne,’ Growing Pains,’ and ‘Cheers’ in the late 1980s. He bagged the recurring role of ‘Drew McCrorey’ in the sitcom ‘Down Home,’ from 1990 to 1991, and had a similar recurring role in the ‘NBC’ serial ‘Empty Nest,’ from 1991 to 1994. His performances as the ‘Colonel’ in the legal drama ‘JAG’ and the husband in the British sitcom ‘Men Behaving Badly’ proved his mettle as a versatile actor. During this period, he appeared as ‘Hulk’ in the movie ‘High School High.’

His performance as ‘Irving’ in the comedy ‘Grilled’ and as ‘Steve’ in the direct-to-video drama ‘Flying By’ brought him positive reviews. This was also the time he made it big on TV and was seen in series such as ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,’ ‘How I Met Your Mother,’ ‘Hollywood Residential,’ and ‘Maneater.’

In 2010, he bagged the career-defining role of ‘Bob Duncan’ in the TV series ‘Good Luck Charlie.’ His performance was loved by his fans and created a sensation on social media.

Lately, he has appeared in the movies ‘LA Apocalypse’ and ‘Pitching Tents.’ Currently, he appears in the lead role of ‘Scott Mills’ in the comedy–drama series ‘Lodge 49.’ Over the last 30 years, Eric has come a long way in the entertainment industry and has earned the respect of his fans.

Allan continues to be a stage member of the ‘Antaeus Classical Rep Company’ in Los Angeles. His hulky frame of 6 feet and 3 inches helps him bag suitable roles. He is conscious of his physique and is fond of the gym.

During the filming of ‘Good Luck Charlie,’ he weighed 260 pounds. This started troubling his knees. Regular workouts at the gym and a strict diet helped him lose 35 pounds and build more muscle.

Rumors claim that he married James Bonci in 2013 and that he has children. However, Eric later denied being married ever, which led to further rumors of him being gay. However, there are no confirmed reports about his personal life and sexual orientation.

He is the first actor to play the role of the ‘Marvel’ superhero ‘Thor’ in a live-action movie.
