Chris Tallman is an American actor and comedian who is most famously known for his roles in television series ‘The Thundermans’ and ‘Reno 911!’ He has written, produced, directed and acted in ‘Time Belt’, a popular Channel 101 sci-fi series. Before he ventured into television, Tallman was an active in theatre and performed with several theatre groups in his hometown Madison. He remains an active part of several improvisational comedy groups. He has, to his credit, several guest appearances in hit series, including such as ‘House’, ‘How I Met Your Mother’, and ‘Parks and Recreation’. He was also part of the ensemble cast in ‘Thank God You’re Here’ in 2007. He is most remembered for his role as Hank Thunderman, a superhero father, in the Nickelodeon series ‘The Thundermans’ which first aired in October 2013. This became his most popular role as the show was immensely successful. He was subsequently awarded the Channel 101 Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007 for his services and achievements to the industry. He currently lives in Los Angeles and is an active part of the industry.

Career

Chris Tallman was involved in theatre and acting from a young age. After graduating from high school, he started performing with several theatre groups in Madison and was a member of Madison ComedySportz, an improvisational comedy organization. He continues to be a part of ComedySportz in Los Angeles. He later went on to study theatre at University of Wisconsin-Madison. After college, Tallman and a few of his friends decided to move to New York to pursue comedy and work on their material. This resulted in ‘The Bert Fershners’, a show of sketches and songs that caught the eye of Comedy Central.

Subsequently, Tallman and his friends were offered a pilot and a special. He later decided to broaden his horizons and move to L.A. in 1999; this proved to be successful as he found work as a guest comedian in various shows. He appeared in ‘Reno 911’, ‘How I Met Your Mother’, and ‘Parks and Recreation’.In 2003, Tallman decided to produce, write, act, and direct ‘Time Belt’, a Sci-fi TV series. It was Channel 101's flagship series. He increase his repertoire by acting in television series’ ‘Halfway Home’, ‘The Mentalist’, ‘The Sarah Silverman Program’, ‘Chocolate News’, and ‘Bones’.

In 2006, he appeared in an episode of the hit series ‘House M.D.’ as Vince, who was the main patient in the episode. In the same year, he feature in the movie ‘Rescue Dawn’ and ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’. In 2007, he was a part of the ensemble cast in NBC’s improv comedy show ‘Thank God You’re Here’, which featured celebrities forced to perform a scene that they were clueless about. He would go on to appear as a guest comedian in TV series such as ‘American Body Shop’, ‘Back to You’, and ‘Frank TV’.

His most popular role till date is be as Hank Thunderman. In 2013, he decided to audition for ‘The Thundermans’ after reading the script sent by Nickelodeon as he loved the idea. He played the title role of the superhero father. When it was aired, the show recorded 2.6 million viewers, according to Nickelodeon. The network decided to extend the series from 13 to 20 episodes as it was a huge hit. The show is currently running in its fourth seasons and remains as popular as ever. Apart from acting, Tallman also writes TV sketches and episodes and is currently involved with writing for Knight Squad, a comedy television series on Nickelodeon. With several appearances in different hit series, Tallman has proved that age is not a factor when it comes to having fun.

Chris Tallman was born on September 22, 1970 in Madison, Wisconsin. His mother Sally Probasco is a former city attorney and his stepfather Topf Wells is a former chief of staff for Kathleen Falk. He is currently married to Sarah Stanard since 2006, and she is a fellow UW-Madison alumnus. Though they went to same University, the couple never met on campus. They were introduced by a mutual friend later in Los Angeles. They have two daughters. Tallman describes himself as a goofball who loves to have fun. He is also very fond of superhero stories and movies and spends his free time baking. He has confessed that he would love to move back to Madison and live with his family in his hometown.
