The Backstory
When Kim Kardashian West became pregnant with her first child, she suffered Pre-eclampsia (PE), a disorder which forced her to deliver her baby six weeks earlier than normal. After giving birth to her second child, Saint West, Kardashian had to undergo a surgery to remove her placenta as she suffered placenta accreta. The doctors then advised her not to become pregnant again. Since Kim Kardashian and Kanye West wanted to expand their family, they opted for surrogacy.
