Carlos Pena Jr. was born Carlos Roberto Pena Jr., on August 15, 1989, in Columbia, Missouri. He was born to a Dominican mother, Margarita Pena, and a Spanish father, Carlos Pena Sr. He grew up in Weston, Florida, with his siblings, Andres, Antonia, and Javi.

He attended the ‘Sagemont Upper School,’ where he supported his team in games by performing and cheering for them. He later joined the ‘American Heritage School’ but soon left for Los Angeles to fulfil his desire to be an actor.

As a child, he was passionate about acting. In 2014, he got a breakthrough role in an episode of ‘ER.’ He was 10 years old then. Around this time, he also got inclined to singing and dancing. He bagged the role of ‘King Bee’ in ‘Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide,’ an American live action sitcom. He appeared in three episodes of this sitcom when he was around 15 years old.

Carlos began his acting career at an early age, with a breakthrough role in one of the episodes of ‘ER.’ This break changed his life. Soon, he played ‘King Bee’ in three episodes of an American sitcom.

Although he did not play main role in his previous series, he bagged the role of ‘Diego Valdesera’ in an episode of ‘Judging Amy’ titled ‘Diego Valdesera.’ He also played the role of a student in an episode of the American TV drama ‘Summerland’ titled ‘Sledgehammer.’

The year 2009 proved to be career-defining for Carlos. He was offered the main role of ‘Carlos Garcia’ in the American TV series ‘Big Time Rush.’ The series focused on the lives of four hockey players and was aired on ‘Nickelodeon’ from November 28, 2009, to July 25, 2013.

In 2011, he appeared in an episode of a German TV soap opera titled ‘Hand aufs Herz.’ Thereafter, he also appeared in an episode of the ‘Nickelodeon’ children’s show ‘Nick News’ titled ‘Lies We Tell in Middle School.’ His dream of acting in movies came true when he was offered the role of ‘Louis’ in the film ‘Little Birds’ in 2011. Carlos played the role of a skateboarder in the film.

He was also part of the short film ‘The Hangover Hollywood’ in 2011. The film was a parody of the famous film franchise ‘The Hangover.’ It failed to gather as many views as his other ‘YouTube’ videos.

In 2012, he received a lot of offers. He voiced the character ‘Krudd’ in the English version of the animated film ‘The Giant King.’ He featured in the ‘Nickelodeon’ TV film ‘Big Time Movie.’

He also appeared in an episode of the teen sitcom ‘How to Rock’ titled ‘How to Rock an Election.’ The same year, he appeared in eight episodes of the children’s game show ‘Figure It Out.’ He was a guest star in an episode of the reality competition series ‘Cupcake Wars’ titled ‘Big Time Rush.’

In 2013, he appeared as himself in an episode of the American science-fiction slapstick comedy ‘Marvin Marvin’ titled ‘Big Time Marvin.’ The series originally aired on ‘Nickelodeon’ from November 24, 2012, to April 27, 2013.

In 2014, he hosted the ‘Nickelodeon’ children’s game show ‘Webheads.’ The show consisted of 40 episodes that were all hosted by Carlos. The same year, he appeared as ‘Marcos’ in the short science-fiction film ‘Code Academy.’ The film revolved around the theme of keeping the two genders away from each other till the age of 18.

In 2015, he appeared in many TV series, such as ‘The Thundermans,’ ‘The Penguins of Madagascar,’ and ‘Instant Mom.’ In ‘The Penguins of Madagascar,’ he voiced the character of ‘Carlos the Beaver’ in the episode ‘Tunnel of Love.’ Before appearing in these series, he participated as a contestant in ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ where he ended up at the fourth spot. He also played the role of ‘Oscar Vasquez’ in the drama ‘Spare Parts.’

In 2016, he appeared as ‘Kenickie’ in ‘Grease: Live.’ The TV film was a remake of the 1978 film ‘Grease.’ He lent his voice to ‘Bobby Santiago’ in the American animated series ‘The Loud House.’

In 2017, he appeared in the film ‘Killing Hasselhoff,’ where he played the role of ‘Pedro.’ The movie narrated the tale of a man planning to kill a celebrity in order to win a bet, in which one had to guess the death day of a big celebrity. Carlos also appeared as ‘Ricardo Archuleta’ in the TV film ‘Enchanted Christmas.’ Of late, he was seen playing the role of ‘Diego Rojas’ in the comedy series ‘Life Sentence.’

Carlos Pena Jr. was in a long-term relationship with Chelsea Ricketts, but they broke up in 2010. He was also in a relationship with Samantha Droke.

Following this, he met Alexa Vega. They became friends and eventually got engaged in August 2013. They got married on January 4, 2014. They manage a collaborative ‘YouTube’ channel named ‘LexLovesLos.’ They announced that they were expecting a baby by posting a video on their channel. Their son, Ocean King PenaVega, was born in 2016.
