Brynn Thayer is an American actress known for her work in television. She first came to attention after playing a supporting role in the TV series ‘One Life to Live’. The series, which was directed by Agnes Nixon, became known as the first drama series to feature ethnically and socially diverse characters, as well as to focus on several social issues. The show won several Emmy Awards. She was next seen playing a main role in the TV series ‘TV 101’. The series aired for only one season. She was also seen in a main role in the medical drama series ‘Island Son’. The show was, however, cancelled shortly because of poor reviews. She played guest roles in several TV shows such as ‘Murder, She wrote’, ‘Cold Case’ and ‘How to Get Away with Murder’. Brynn Thayer started gaining attention in 1978 when she began portraying Jenny Wolek in the popular TV series ‘One Life to Live’. She played the role for a total of eight years. Her performance in the series earned her a nomination for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress. The show was created by Anges Nixon and it aired from 1968 to 2013.
From 1988 to 1989, she starred in a main role in the drama TV series ‘TV 101’. The series was about a recently divorced photojournalist who quits his job and then returns to the school where he studied at, in order to teach journalism. The show was cancelled because of a controversy as well as low ratings. She next played a main role in the medical drama ‘Island Son’.The show revolved around a dedicated medical doctor and his complicated and stressful life.
Thayer was next seen in an important role in the legal drama TV series ‘Matlock’. She portrayed the daughter of the titular character. The show mostly revolved around how Matlock used to identify perpetrators and then confront them in a dramatic courtroom scene. The show aired from 1986 to 1995, covering nine seasons. She also played a recurring role in the hugely popular and successful medical drama TV series ‘General Hospital’.
She played a main role in the 1988 action film ‘Hero and the Terror’. Directed by William Tannen, the film starred the famous martial artist and actor Chuck Norris in the leadrole. Norris portrayed a cop trying to stop a serial killer. The film was met with negative reviews from critics.

She has been married three times. Her first marriage was to Hugh Robertson in 1971. After their divorce, she got married to Gerald Antony in 1981. In 1983, this marriage also ended in divorce. Her present husband is David Steinberg, whom she married in 1994.
Along with actor Michael Zaslow and his wife Susan Hufford, she co-founded the charitable organization ZazAngels to generate funds for researching amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as the Lou Gehrig’s disease.
