Who is Peyton Manning?
Peyton Williams Manning is an American football quarterback for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). Before that he had a successful run with the Indianapolis Colts for fourteen seasons. He started out by playing college football for the University of Tennessee and later the Indianapolis Colts selected him to play for their team. Although he suffered from minor setbacks in his rookie year but over the next 13 years, Manning became unquestionably the game's best quarterback and the face of a high-powered Colts team that regularly contended for the NFL's top record. In 2011, he underwent neck surgery to lessen the neck pain and arm weakness before signing a five-year, $90 million contract extension with the Colts but he did not play for the whole season since his condition did not allow it and in the following year the Colts released him, and the Broncos singed him on. Before the 2013 season had even finished, the ‘Sports Illustration’ named him their Sportsman of the Year. Manning is also a writer and authored and co-authored two books with his father, former NFL quarterback Archie Manning, and elder brother of New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

Childhood & Early Life
Peyton Manning was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Olivia Williams and Archie Manning. His father is a former NFL quarterback.
He attended the Isidore Newman High School and there he was a part of their football team. He later enrolled himself at the University of Tennessee and his career with football continued there as well.
In his 4 year football career at the University, Manning passed for 11,201 yards, registered 863 completions, and connected for 89 touchdowns. He was so deep into the game that he used to watch game films to study his opponents.
Career
In 1998, in the National Football League draft, the Indianapolis Colts picked up Manning. This was the franchise that was going through an elongated phase of hard luck and high losses and they selected Manning to save the team.
His rookie year was a mix of phases of brilliance and struggle as he faced some unexpected growing pains. Still, he managed to throw an NFL-leading 28 interceptions for a team that struggled to a 3-13 finish.
But the early struggles led to future success - over the next 13 years, Manning became unquestionably the game's best quarterback and the face of a high-powered Colts team that regularly contended for the NFL's top record.
Manning won his first MVP award in 2003, and later earned the same award three more times (2004, 2008 and 2009). This made him the first NFL player ever to achieve that merit.
He is the fastest player to pass for 50,000 career yards and 4,000 completions, in spite of the fact that for the first 10 years of his career, Manning was undermined by insinuations that he will never win a big game.
In 2007, he hushed all the criticism by overthrowing his longtime rivals, the New England Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady, in the AFC title game, and then went on to smash the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI.
The Colts signed Manning to a 5 year in 2011, $90 million contract after discussions in which he made it clear that he did not need to be the highest-paid player in the NFL.
The Colts released Manning in 2012 and he signed on with Denver Broncos. The same year he made his first appearance as a Bronco in a preseason game against the Chicago Bears.
In 2013, Manning broke the record for most touchdown passes in the first three games of a season after throwing 12 and he finished the regular season with 55 touchdown passes, in addition to throwing for a league record 5,477 yards.
