Lorraine Bracco is an American actress, known for her notable performance in the television series ‘The Sopranos.’ Born in New York, she grew up in Long Island and later moved to France in pursuit of a career in show business and began working as a fashion model. Childhood & Early Life

Lorraine Bracco was born on 2 October 1954 at Bay Ridge, Brooklyn to Eileen and Salvatore Bracco, Sr. She has a brother Salvatore Jr. and a sister Elizabeth Bracco, who also grew up to become an actress.

She spent her childhood in Westbury, Long Island, and graduated from the Hicksville High School in 1972.

Career

Lorraine Bracco shifted to France in 1974, where she worked as a fashion model for fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier. It was during this time that she was acquainted with Italian novelist and screenwriter Lina Wertmüller.

While working as a fashion model, she explored other career opportunities and worked as a radio disc jockey with Radio Luxembourg for a short while.

In 1979, she made her feature film debut with the French comedy film ‘Duos sur canapé’. She then went on to act in several other French language films.

In the 1980s she returned to the United States of America to look at projects in Hollywood. She appeared in the episode ‘Hide and Go Thief’ on the drama television series ‘Crime Story’.
