Who is Hans Zhang?
Hans Zhang is a Chinese actor, singer as well as a host, famous for his roles in the popular Chinese drama television series ‘Meteor Shower’ and ‘Meteor Shower II’. Even though he had always wanted to be an actor, Hans was not a very confident person at the starting phase of his career and doubted his own acting skills. Also, he was not too comfortable about nudity or sexuality in front of the camera. This led to a bit of confusion about his career choice in his own mind. However, it was a video that he had himself made which landed him in the middle of all attention. The romantic short video earned him a major fan following as well as a handful of positive reviews which made him confident about his acting skills, and eventually he decided to stick with his desire to be an actor. Hans has featured in many television shows and has acted in several films. Interestingly, over the course of his acting career he also got opportunities to showcase his singing talent and provided vocals for the soundtracksof several television shows in which he worked as an actor.

Career
Hans Zhang graduated from the Central Academy of Drama in 2007 and wanted to pursue a career in acting. He made a short romantic video that sprung from the story of a ragged man and it became an instant hit. Despite his prudishness, this success gave him the much-needed confidence to follow his dream.
His first big break came in 2009 when he picked the role of ‘Murong Yunhai’ in the Chinese television drama ‘Meteor Shower’. The show and the character of Hans became very popular among the audiences and in the subsequent year, he appeared in the sequel of the show reprising the same role. The show earned Hans the ‘Most Popular Actor’ award at the 2009 ‘Sohu TV Drama Season Review’ as well as the ‘Most Promising Artist’ award at the ‘Tencent Star Awards’.
Later he acted in several popular television shows including ‘Secret History of Princess Taiping’, ‘The Queen of SOP’, ‘Heroes in Sui and Tang Dynasties’, ‘Boss & Me’, and ‘The Four’. He also appeared in several movies in his career after his debut in 2008. In 2010, he appeared in the Korean-Chinese animal movie ‘Hearty Paws 2’. He then acted in films like ‘No Limit’ in 2011, ‘An Inspector Calls’ in 2015, ‘Youth Never Returns’ in 2015, ‘The Rise of a Tomboy’ in 2016 and ‘Wolf Warriors 2’ in 2017.
Hans took part in the travel reality show ‘Divas Hit the Road’ in 2014. Also a singer, he has sung several playbacks in some of the shows he has appeared in as an actor. His most popular songs include the likes of ‘Picking Up Memories' and ‘Stars' Language’ in ‘Meteor Shower’, ‘Be the friend that loves you’ in ‘The Queen of SOP’, and ‘The Wind's Promise’ in ‘Boss & Me’. In 2013, Hans won the ‘Most Popular Actor’ award at the ‘19th Shanghai Television Festival’ and in 2015, he won the ‘Asian Star Award’ at the ‘10th Seoul International Drama Awards’ for his work in ‘Boss & Me’.
