Dakota was neither interested in making a career on social media nor was he looking to gain popularity. He was always into sports and played soccer during his childhood days. After becoming familiar with a few basic moves of the game, he sought professional training at an academy. So, he joined US Soccer Academy and continued his training. He played the sport for quite a long time at the academy.

Dakota’s life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome. Tourette syndrome is a neurological disorder where the sufferer cannot concentrate on a particular thing. People suffering from Tourette syndrome also experience either physical or verbal tics. Dakota started behaving abnormally when he stepped into his teens. His parents initially thought it to be a normal behavior of any average teenager. Gradually, Dakota’s behavior worsened. He was then taken to an expert and the disorder was confirmed.

This was the period when his life started to change drastically. In order to boost his self-confidence, he started facing people and often narrated about his disorder to them. He then decided to do it on a larger scale and hence turned towards social media. He created his YouTube channel in 2014 and started uploading a number of story time videos.

The first video that he uploaded was about Tourette syndrome. In the video, he spoke about his personal experiences and suggested ways to cope with it. He also posted a video in which he showed how he reacts when he gets the tics. The video was well-received and hence Dakota gained some confidence to upload more such videos. Though Dakota generally posts story time videos on his channel, he makes sure to keep his viewers interested by posting a variety of videos.

He has posted a number of videos about his girlfriend, his trips, daily routine and also a few weird incidents. He then posted a three-part video about his trip to Kauai Island. He also shared an incident in which he had a near-death experience. Describing the incident, he went on to say that he felt as if he came back to life after experiencing blackout for a moment. Dakota has also uploaded a question and answer video. In one of his craziest videos, he ate hot peppers and threw up in front of the camera.

Apart from YouTube, Dakota has gained popularity on YouNow and Instagram as well. On Instagram, he has posted many of his pictures, along with his girlfriend and his pet. His YouNow account has amassed more than 80,000 fans. As he indulged in making more number of videos on various social media platforms, Dakota gradually developed a liking for acting and modelling. Also, his good looks were an added advantage and that encouraged him to pursue a career in acting.

Dakota then started auditioning for acting roles and also forwarded his profile to many modelling agencies. He finally managed to grab a few modelling offers and also got featured in a few magazines like ‘J-14’ and ‘Daydream Magazine’. He has also been featured in the famous ‘Rolling Stone’ magazine. Dakota loved the experience and hence decided to make acting as his full-time career. In order to concentrate more on his acting and modelling career, Dakota retired from playing soccer in 2015.

Dakota Brooks was born on February 9, 2000, in New Hampshire, United States. He grew up along with his two younger brothers. Dakota frequently travels to Arizona to meet his extended family. He also needs to travel a lot because of his disorder. He takes immense pride in revealing the fact that soccer player Dimitry Imbongo served as his mentor during his stay at the Soccer Academy.

He owns a dog named Jada. Dakota is in a relationship with Kaziah, who too is a YouTuber.
