Bridgit Mendler is a popular American singer-songwriter and actress. She began her acting career with the animated film ‘The Legend of Buddha’ and has since starred in several films such as ‘Labor Pains’ and ‘Alice Upside Down’. She became a Disney star with the television series ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ and ‘Good Luck Charlie’. She also starred in the 2010 TV film season’s release ‘Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas’. She became a singer-songwriter with the film ‘Lemonade Mouth’ and released two singles subsequently which found a place in the ‘US Billboard Hot 100’ songs. Her debut pop album ‘Hello My Name Is…’ became an international hit and was soon followed by the release of an EP ‘Live In London’. Mendler also works with several non-profit organisations and other humanitarian causes. Childhood & Early Life
Bridgit Claire Mendler was born on 18th December 1992 in Washington D.C. She grew up with her younger brother, Nick, and moved to Mill Valley, California when she was eight.
After settling in California, she took part in several plays and developed a fancy for acting. She eventually became the youngest performer in ‘San Francisco Fringe Festival’.
At eleven, she decided to make acting her career and hired an agent. She began by acting in commercials and doing voice-overs and eventually became a television star.
On graduating from high school, she sought admission at the ‘University of Southern California’ where she enrolled in Anthropology. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University in 2016.
Teen Acting Career
In 2004, Bridgit got a breakthrough voicing the character Lucy in the Indian animated film ‘The Legend of Buddha’. It was followed by a guest appearance in the TV show ‘General Hospital’ in the episode ‘Lulu’s Dream Daughter’.
In 2006, she voiced Thorn in the video game ‘Bone: The Great Cow Race’. And the next year she was cast in her debut film ‘Alice Upside Down’ as the antagonist Pamela. She also provided vocals for the film’s soundtrack ‘Free Spirit’.
She played the role of Kristen Gregory in the teen film ‘The Clique’ and acted alongside popular actress Lindsay Lohan in the movie ‘Labor Pains’ aired on ABC network in 2009.
Another offer came her way when she was cast in a supporting role as Becca Kingston in the live action/ computer animated children’s comedy ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel’.

Mendler became a part of the Disney family in 2009 when she was offered a recurring role in the hit Disney series ‘Wizards of the Waverly Place’ in which she played the vampire, Juliet Van Heusen.
In 2010, she was cast in a lead role as Teddy Duncan in the American Disney sitcom ‘Good Luck Charlie’. The series met with critical acclaim and it became her first main role as an actor. The series spanned four successful seasons running for 97 episodes.
With fortunes flooding in after her role as Teddy Duncan, Disney cast Bridgit in the teen musical ‘Lemonade Mouth’ as Olivia White in 2011. In the movie, her talent as a singer shined through and a soundtrack under the banner of ‘Walt Disney Records’ was released on 12th April 2011.

In 2012, Mendler began working on her official debut album and released the first single for digital download on 7th August. The single was titled ‘Ready or Not’ and peaked on all music charts.
In order to promote her debut album, she went on her first music tour titled ‘Bridgit Mendler: Live in Concert’ mainly in North America. She announced that her debut album would be named ‘Hello My Name Is…’ under the ‘Hollywood Records’ label and would release on 22nd October, 2012. It was a success and booked the number 30 spot on ‘US Billboard 200’ with the second single from the album ‘Hurrican’ stealing the top spot on the ‘US Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100’
She went on a ‘Summer Tour’ shortly afterwards and released an EP titled ‘Live in London’ under ‘Universal Music’. In November 2013, she released an independent acoustic version of the song ‘Top of the World’.
Following her second Summer Tour in September 2014, she released two new singles ‘Fly to You’ and ‘Deeper Shade of Us’. Soon after the releases she was offered the main role of Candace on the NBC sitcom ‘Undateable’. The show ran for three seasons before being discontinued.
In 2016, she announced that she was working on her second studio album. In August, she released the first single of the album titled ‘Atlantis feat. Kaiydo’. She released another EP ‘Nemesis’ later in November that year.
In 2017, she starred in the lead role of Fox’s sitcom ‘Thin Ice’ and appeared as a guest in the TV series ‘Nashville’ as Ashley Wilkenson in the episode ‘Let’s Put It Back Together Again’.
