Kroll is also known for playing the character of Fabrice Fabrice in the show, ‘Human Giant’. He has also established himself as a writer. As a live performer, Kroll specializes in a unique blend of stand-up and sketch comedy, playing a variety of comic characters on the stage. Childhood & Early Life
Nick Kroll was born as Nicholas J. Kroll on June 5, 1978 in Westchester County, New York. He has an older brother and two older sisters.
Kroll was born to Lynn and Jules B. Kroll, the founders of the consulting firm Kroll Inc., a billion-dollar company. Kroll was raised in a traditional Jewish family and started his education at Solomon Schechter School and later got transferred to Rye Country Day School.
He then joined The Mountain School. After his high school graduation, Kroll joined Georgetown University. He earned his undergraduate degree with a major in History and a minor in Spanish. After that, he began his career as a writer in Comedy Central's ‘Chappelle's Show’.
Career
Kroll commenced his stand-up career in 2004. He began touring the United States as a stand-up comedian and also appeared in several comedy podcasts and radio programs. Much before he stepped into the field of acting, he published his first book ‘Bar Mitzvah Disco’ in 2005, which he co-wrote with Roger Bennett and Jules Shell. This coffee table book was the bestseller back then.
Before he became famous, Kroll was one of the comedians on the VH-1 clip show, and commented on various people and things in the pop culture. He made his television debut in 2006 with the show, ‘Late Night with Conan O'Brien’.
He debuted as a scriptwriter in 2007 for the MTV show, ‘Human Giant’. He also played the character of Fabrice Fabrice which garnered him accolades.
Kroll’s turning point came when he was cast as Nick Hedge in the show, ‘Cavemen’. The show was based on the characters of GEICO Cavemen commercials. Although ‘Cavemen’ was not a hit, Kroll’s character was loved so much by the audience, that the producers wanted him for their next few ventures.
The popularity brought Kroll his hit show, ‘Reno 911!’ in 2009. The very same year, he entertained the audience with one more hit show, ‘The League’. This show was about six friends competing in a fantasy football competition.
He ventured into direction with the telefilm, ‘Cavalcade of Personalities’, which starred Craig Baldo and John Mulaney. The film used real footage taken from various news broadcast to narrate the scandalous story of several prominent people.
Kroll once again penned the script for the film, ‘I Love You, Man’, starring Paul Rudd and Jason Segel. He also starred in the film. Next, he was seen in the comedy flick, ‘Dinner for Schmucks’ in 2010.
As a voice-over artist, Kroll has been associated with many series. In 2009, he lent his voice to a character named Stu in the series, ‘The Life & Times of Tim’. Later that year, he lent his voice to the character Andrew Le Gustambos for the series, ‘Sit Down, Shut Up’.
He also became the voice of Lem, one of the famous characters of ‘The Simpsons’. Presently, he is working as a voice-over artist for the show, ‘Big Mouth’. He is also associated with the show as a co-creator, executive producer and writer.

Human Giant – Kroll is best known for his character Fabrice Fabrice, played in this comedy show. He collaborated with the Indian stand-up artist, Aziz Ansari. The show broadcast its first episode on MTV on April 5, 2007.
Cavemen – This is one of the craziest shows of Kroll to be aired on mainstream US television where cavemen live side-by-side with modern day men. The show was first aired on October 2, 2007.
League –‘The League’ is an American comedy television series in which he plays Rodney Ruxin. He also wrote the script for the show. It aired its first episode on October 29, 2009.
Thank You Very Cool – This is Kroll’s first hour-long stand-up special, premiered on Comedy Central in 2011. It was later released on DVD.
Kroll Show – This is a Comedy Central show, which featured sketch characters like the gigolo cum media personality, Bobby Bottleservice; the filthy rich, Aspen Bruckenheimer; and the founder of Pub Lizity, P.R. flack Liz G all played by Kroll himself. The show had an original release on January 16, 2013.
Sausage Party – Kroll voiced a character, which was actually a feminine hygiene product, in this animated film. The film also starred Seth Rogen and was released on August 12, 2016.
Oh, Hello on Broadway – Kroll made his Broadway debut with this TV special show in which he and his fellow comedian, John Mulaney, played the grumpy old, douches. It staged its first show at the Lyceum Theatre in September 2016.
