Mattia Dessi - Brigitte Nielsen’s Husband, Birthday and Family

Brigitte Nielsen met Mattia Dessi in 2004, when he was employed as a bartender in a hotel in Switzerland. The local news reports suggested that they met each other in the city of Lugano. They were engaged to each other in 2005. It was reported that the couple planned to get married in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. However, at this time, Nielsen was still married to her fourth husband, Raoul Meyer, a racing driver. Later in the year, the couple was featured on the reality TV series ‘Strange Love’ on VH1. In the show, Nielsen chose Mattia over her then rapper boyfriend, Flavor Flav. Later in 2006, Brigitte and Mattia tied the knot in an impromptu ceremony in Malta. The beach side ceremony involved Brigitte wearing a pink tiara and the couple immediately jumped into the hotel pool after they took their vows. The media, however, were unsure if they relationship would last due to the age difference of 15 years. However, Nielsen has confessed that she finds Mattia more mature than her and they continue to share a strong bond.

He has worked in the reality shows, ‘Strange Love’ (2005) and ‘Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew’ (2008) and has produced the TV show ‘Gitte Talks’ (201). The couple has never shied away from the publicly displaying their affection for each other; they have been constantly spotted at famous restaurants and parties cozying up to each other.

Sparks flew between the couple and they hit it off. Brigitte was previously married four times and has four sons: Juliann, Killian, Douglas, and Raoul. She went on to marry Mattia in July 2006 at a beach-side ceremony in Malta. The ceremony was held at the five-star Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa.

It was recently announced that the couple is expecting their first child as Brigitte announced on Instagram that she is pregnant. Nielsen has also credited her sobriety to Mattia as she suffered from an alcohol addiction for most of her public life, even checking into a rehab when her family intervened. In her public appearance a year later on VH1’s Celebrity Rehab, she mentioned that she is sober and has even quit smoking. In her biography, ‘In Live, Nothing Is Given to You’, Nielsen mentions that she grew stronger through Mattia’s love. They currently live in Palm Springs, California. His hobbies include playing the piano and indulging in computer video games. He has also mentioned that his favorite actors are Robert Downey Jr. and Jennifer Lawrence.
