Kalel is a well-known social media star who runs the hugely popular self-titled YouTube channel which boasts of almost two million subscribers! Describing herself as a “video blogger. vegan food connoisseur. crazy cat lady” on her Facebook profile, Kalel is known for her highly entertaining videos as well as her poignant posts on animal rights. Venturing into the world of social media in 2010, she first created a beauty channel on YouTube titled ‘queenbeeuty’ which became quite successful. Having enjoyed her first taste of success with this channel, she proceeded to create another channel where she posted lifestyle, vlogs and advice videos. Though she eventually deleted both these channels, she went on to start several other channels in the ensuing years. In 2012 she launched ‘WonderlandWardrobe,’ a channel dedicated to DIY fashion and lifestyle videos, as well as vlogs. Despite all the name and fame she enjoys, Kalel is no stranger to controversies! Initially she had told her fans that Kalel Cullen is her real name; however, later it was revealed that her actual name is “Kristin Smith.” Her fans felt betrayed as she had lied to them about her real identity. Kalel is also accused of fabricating several details about her family. She had lied about having Scottish ancestry and falsely claimed that her mother was Native American. She also professes to be an animal rights activist and vegan, but has been spotted consuming animal products on several occasions. On her vlogs, she promoted some beauty brands that test on animals which earned her the wrath of genuine animal rights activists. They accused her of hypocrisy as real vegans don’t support animal testing. Additionally, Kalel is also accused of promoting negative body image among youngsters. In 2010, she began dating popular YouTuber Anthony Padilla. The two became very close over the following years and got engaged in 2013. However their relationship was a tumultuous one, as Anthony revealed later. The couple broke their engagement in late 2014. Soon after the break-up, Kalel started dating again. In 2015, she revealed the identity of her new boyfriend to be Alec Rosa. This relationship came to an end within a few months. In 2016, she announced to her followers that she was once again in a relationship, this time with a guy called Cyrus who she had met at a New Year’s party in Las Vegas.
