Who is Barry Scheck?

Barry Charles Scheck is a well-known American lawyer who came into limelight while serving on O.J. Simpson's criminal defense team, helping win an acquittal in the highly publicized murder case. He is a co-founder and director of The Innocence Project as well as a professor at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University. Widely considered as one of the world’s finest criminal defense attorneys, Scheck has also served as the president of National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in the past and has taught legal ethics, forensic science and trial practice to law students, attorneys and judges. One of the main qualities of Attorney Barry Scheck is that he never shies away from handling high-profile cases and tackles them honestly and wisely. While his association with the Simpson team tarnished his reputation to a certain extent, most of his career has been dedicated to the pursuit of valuable causes, including serving those who need it the most. Coming to the awards won by Scheck, he is a recipient of National Trial Lawyers Lifetime Achievement Award. He has also received New York State Bar Association gold medal. Besides these, Scheck holds several honorary degrees and has been named one of the 100 Best Lawyers in USA several times.
