Yasmin Aga Khan is a philanthropist who is famous for raising public awareness regarding Alzheimer's disease. She is the daughter of Prince Aly Khan, Pakistan's former representative to the UN, and American actress/ dancer Rita Hayworth. After the death of her mother due to Alzheimer's disease, she decided to create widespread awareness about this potentially fatal disease. Since then she has been advocating tirelessly to find a cure for the disease and related disorders. A graduate of Bennington College, she has successfully established a worldwide network for coordinating Alzheimer's disease research. By making innumerable public appearances and giving several interviews, she has brought this global network together to make the public more aware about this misunderstood and dangerous disease. Today, Yasmin Aga Khan holds honourable positions at the boards of several organizations and institutions associated with Alzheimer's disease. She serves these organizations with the hope that one day a cure will become a reality.

Philanthropic Activities
Yasmin Aga Khan has extended the love and concern she had for her mother to the other victims of Alzheimer’s disease. She established the Rita Hayworth Gala, a benefit for the Alzheimer's Association, in the memory of her mother with the aim of finding a cure for the dreaded illness. Well, this gala is only a fraction of the philanthropic work she does.
Princess Yasmin Aga Khan serves as the Vice Chairman of Alzheimer's and Related Disorders Association. She is a spokesperson at Board of Visitors for Boston University School of Medicine and President of the Alzheimer Disease International. She also serves on several boards of the Aga Khan Foundation. She serves on the Nomination, Development and Public Policies and Issues Committees as well.
Her interview was featured in the documentary film ‘I Remember Better When I Paint,’ wherein she described how her mother took up painting while struggling with Alzheimer’s disease and was able to create beautiful artwork despite her pain and suffering.

Yasmin Aga Khan was born on December 28, 1949 in Lausanne, Switzerland, to Prince Aly Khan, Pakistan's former representative to the UN, and American actress/ dancer Rita Hayworth. She has three half-siblings namely, Rebecca Welles Manning, Prince Amyn Aga Khan and His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV. Yasmin studied at Buxton School and International School of Geneva. She then graduated from Bennington College in 1973.
She married Basil Embiricos, a wealthy Greek economist, in 1985 and had a son, Andrew Ali Aga Khan Embiricos. After divorcing Embiricos in 1987, Yasmin Aga Khan started dating again. Two years later, she married Christopher Michael Jeffries, a real estate developer and lawyer. However, she separated from him in the year 1993. In 2011, Yasmin’s son Andrew died in his Manhattan apartment at the age of 25. Besides these, no other important information regarding the philanthropist’s life is available on the web or to the media.
