The Future of Remote Work

The survey conducted by Tech Central and Storm Technology shows that 41% of IT leaders think their companies will become 100% remote in the future. Over two-thirds (67%) of respondents believe their organisation is currently equipped to support such a move, and 81% think the way their company is currently working is effective. However, IT leaders identify several challenges with remote/hybrid working, such as supporting company culture and providing secure access to company systems and information. IT leaders must provide the necessary technologies and training to create a productive, proactive, and positive workplace to overcome these challenges. The leading barriers to collaboration were identified as a lack of digital skills, people not having time to collaborate, and a lack of face-to-face meetings. Securing communication platforms was cited as an obstacle to collaboration by 25% of IT leaders, and 17% identified the impaired ability to share information as a barrier to collaboration.
