Who is Tamiko Bolton?
Tamiko Bolton is an American education consultant, licensed pharmacist and entrepreneur of Japanese descent, who is best known as the third wife of Hungarian-born American billionaire George Soros. George Soros came to be known as 'The Man Who Broke the Bank of England' after he took on the Bank of England on a historic trade and shrewdly wagered on a devaluation of the British pound – an incident that contributed to much of his fame and fortune. During her early career, Tamiko Bolton worked as a consultant in health and education, and later started her own online business, selling dietary supplement and vitamin products. She most recently launched another online platform to provide yoga education. She is also identified as a partner in Soros Fund Management and often accompanies Soros, who frequently speaks on world economic events, to all over Europe. The two reportedly attended a UN summit on climate change together and regularly engage themselves in charitable initiatives that they support.

The Meteoric Rise to Stardom
A licensed pharmacist, Tamiko Bolton began her career as a consultant and entrepreneur working in health and education sectors. She later became the owner of an internet-based dietary supplement and vitamin sales firm. Most recently, she started an advising project on the development of a web-based yoga education platform. Since she became involved with George Soros, she has made news headlines many times primarily for accompanying her billionaire partner. However, she came to media attention for the wrong reason in 2011 after Soros’ ex-girlfriend dragged her name into a legal battle. She otherwise avoids media appearances and does not have public presence on social media.
Early Life
Tamiko Bolton, who was raised in California, is the daughter of a Japanese-American nurse and a retired naval commander. She graduated from the University of Utah and later earned an MBA from the University of Miami. She was married briefly in the 1990s, but the identity of her first husband is not known.
Marriage Life
Tamiko Bolton met Hungarian-born billionaire George Soros, who was more than double her age, at a dinner party in 2008. They subsequently became romantically involved and he proposed to her in mid-2012 during a weekend visit to the Hamptons, a summer beachside colony on Long Island. A few weeks later, they announced their engagement at a party at Soros’ summer home in Southampton, New York in August 2012. Her engagement ring was reportedly a Graff diamond in a platinum setting on a rose gold band.
In September 2013, clad in a gown designed by US-based, Lebanon-born fashion designer Reem Acra, a 42-year-old Bolton got married for the second time to the 83-year-old investor, philanthropist and supporter of liberal political causes. Soros, who had been married twice before, took the vows for the third time in a small ceremony at his Bedford, New York, estate, which previously belonged to 'Jurassic Park' author Michael Crichton. The ceremony was attended by both their immediate families, including his five children, and about 500 guests including World Bank President Jim Yong Kim; president of Estonia, Hendrik Toomas Ilves; president of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf; prime minister of Albania, Edi Rama; managing director of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde; and Bono of the rock band U2.
After the marriage ceremony, Soros and Bolton hosted a reception at the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts and another reception for 300 guests at the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan, which also served as a preview for an exhibition by Belgian surrealist painter Rene Magritte. Instead of bringing gifts, the couple had asked the guests to make donations to charitable organizations like Global Witness, Harlem Children's Zone, National Dance Institute, Planned Parenthood and the Roma Education Fund.
Controversies & Scandals
Tamiko Bolton was dragged into an ugly legal battle when Adriana Ferreyr, former Brazilian soap opera star and Soros' previous partner, filed a $50 million lawsuit against him claiming that he had promised to give her the $1.9 million Manhattan apartment that he eventually gave to Bolton. She also claimed that Soros, who did not give her many gifts during their time together, had finally offered to buy her a house, following which she herself had chosen Apartment 7C, her dream house, after extensive real-estate searching. The actress even began slandering Bolton to the board of the building and later to lawyers. During the hearing of the lawsuit, Ferreyr went violent, and physically attacked Soros and his lawyers. Soros filed a pending motion to dismiss the lawsuit. After the marriage of Soros and Bolton, Ferreyr's lawyer hoped that now that he doesn't need the apartment, it might be easier to come to a decision about it. Soros, a philanthropist, is expected to leave most of his fortune to charities, but according to his lawyer, will provide generously for his wife.
