Skiing is a popular competitive winter sport in which the skier uses specially crafted skis to glide on snow. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Ski Federation (FIS) organize numerous skiing events every year which attracts participants—both men and women—from different countries. American skier Bode Miller is counted among the best male skiers of all time. An Olympic and World Championship gold medallist, he is also a two-time overall World Cup champion. Not far behind Miller in his achievements, Kjetil Andre Aamodt of Norway is a much decorated international skier with no less than eight Olympic medals to his credit. Coming to the ladies who have carved niches for themselves in the winter sport, it is Janica Kostelic of Croatia whose name comes up first in our minds. Regarded the greatest female Olympic skier of all time, she won four gold and two silver medals in her illustrious career.
