A 14-year-old woman who used to be reported lacking greater than a 12 months in the past through her foster public used to be discovered hiding within the closet of a Michigan house on Tuesday, government stated.
A US Marshals fugitive group discovered the woman in Port Huron, about 62 miles northeast of Detroit. Kid Protecting Products and services took her to the health center, the place it used to be came upon that she used to be pregnant.
“She was crying,” Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Watson informed the Detroit Sovereign Press. “She didn’t know where she was going. She wasn’t sure what was going to happen to her. She was quite terrified. And she was afraid of losing her baby.
Authorities are pursuing parental abduction charges against the girl’s birth mother, who previously lost custody of her daughter, Watson said.
The mother is believed to have found the girl after she ran away and began moving the girl from house to house, authorities said. The girl found her biological father.
“He had been dealing with this nightmare for a year and a half,” Watson stated. “And he’s in a much better place now.”
Atmosphere police contacted Watson on Tuesday inquiring for backup in finding the woman. The guidelines drove the government house.
“The occupiers refused us entry, wouldn’t speak to us or give us information,” he informed the Detroit Information. “We ended up having to serve a search warrant to get inside.”
