What's next for Goldberg?

Goldberg, a former WWE Universal Champion and Hall of Famer, has become a free agent after his contract with WWE expired at the end of 2022. Despite attempts to renew or extend his contract, no deal was made. Goldberg has only wrestled in six matches since the start of 2020, and rumors have circulated that AEW has an interest in him since 2019. Goldberg secured the Universal Championship twice in 2017, but dropped it at WrestleMania later that year. He won the Universal Championship from “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia, only to lose it to Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 36. He lost to Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley at Royal Rumble and SummerSlam respectively in 2021. However, he won a Falls Count Anywhere matchup against “The Almighty” at Crown Jewel two months after his SummerSlam defeat.

Goldberg is Now a Free Agent after WWE Contract Expires

According to a report by Fightful Select, Goldberg, a former Universal Champion and WWE Hall of Famer, has become a free agent after parting ways with the company. His contract with WWE officially expired at the end of 2022, leaving him on the market for a new deal. Despite attempts to renew or extend his contract, no deal was made.

Goldberg had only one match last year in which he lost to Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber in February 2022. When he wrestled his final match for the company, he had ten months left on his deal. Since the start of 2020, Goldberg has only wrestled in six matches, with half of them lasting less than three minutes.

Goldberg secured the Universal Championship twice in 2017, but dropped it at WrestleMania later that year. He won the Universal Championship from “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia, only to lose it to Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 36. Fightful also notes that rumors about AEW having an interest in Goldberg date back to 2019. However, there was never any confirmation.
