The University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide football team kicked off its spring football activities with a practice session on Monday. During the post-practice press conference, head coach Nick Saban updated the media on his squad’s injury report. Saban confirmed that two of Alabama’s starting linebackers, Dallas Turner and Deontae Lawson, would likely miss the entire spring practice due to having surgeries.

According to Saban, “Probably Deontae Lawson and Dallas Turner are two guys that are probably out of the spring completely. Both guys have had surgeries. Shouldn’t be any issues for them moving forward, but they’re probably out for the entire spring.”

Despite the news that the starting linebackers are out for the entire spring practice, the coach remains optimistic that the surgeries won’t cause any long-term issues for the players. Turner and Lawson are expected to provide not only great play for the Tide defense but great leadership as well.
