Chelsea Victoria Clinton is the daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton and a member of one of the most prominent political families of the US. Chelsea, the only child of her parents, was born on February 27, 1980, in Little Rock, Arkansas, US.

Her father, Bill Clinton, was the 42nd president of US, and her mother, Hillary Clinton, was the 67th US secretary of state.

She attended ‘Sidwell Friends School’ after her family moved into the ‘White House’ in 1993. She graduated from the school in 1997.

She majored in history at ‘Stanford University’ and graduated with the highest honors in 2001.

She chose the ‘University of Oxford’s ‘University College’ to pursue higher studies and graduated with a master’s degree in philosophy, in 2003.

Career

Chelsea started her career with ‘McKinsey & Company’ in New York City in 2003 and was the youngest person in her class to get a job. She worked with the firm for three years.

In late 2006, she joined ‘Avenue Capital Group,’ a global investment firm, but left the job a year later to work on her mother’s 2008 presidential nomination campaign.

She lent her support to her mother’s campaign by speaking in colleges across the US, answering questions from the audiences, and introducing her mother at the 2008 ‘Democratic National Convention.’

When her mother failed to win the ‘Democratic’ presidential nomination bid in 2008, Chelsea decided to expand her horizons and look out for new career opportunities.

She went back to college and earned a master’s degree in public health from ‘Columbia University’s ‘Mailman School of Public Health’ in 2010.

The same year, she donned a new hat and began serving as the assistant vice-provost at the ‘Global Network University’ of ‘New York University’ (NYU). She co-founded the ‘Of Many Institute for Multifaith Leadership’ at ‘NYU.’

In November 2011, Chelsea was hired by ‘NBC’ as a special correspondent. Some of her noteworthy reporting assignments include features for the ‘Making a Difference’ segment of ‘NBC Nightly News’ and ‘Rock Center with Brian Williams’.

She managed her work schedule effectively and could simultaneously work on the ‘Clinton Foundation’ and complete her dissertation at ‘Oxford.’

She is currently the vice chair of the ‘Clinton Foundation’ and is leading an initiative called ‘No Ceilings: The Full Participation Project.’

In September 2015, Chelsea authored her first book, ‘It's Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired and Get Going!’ The book was aimed at students aged 10 to 14 and provided an insight into various social issues.

January 2017 saw the release of ‘Governing Global Health: Who Runs the World and Why?,’ a book that Chelsea co-authored with Devi Sridhar. In May 2017, she published another children's book, ‘She Persisted.’
