Regulating AI: UK's 5 Principles

The U.K. government has released recommendations for regulating artificial intelligence (AI), calling on companies to follow five principles: safety, security, and robustness; transparency and explainability; fairness; accountability and governance; and contestability and redress. The recommendations will be put forward to Parliament in a white paper by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT). Instead of creating new regulations, the government wants regulators to enforce existing regulations and inform companies about their obligations under the white paper.
