Sub was born on March 17, 1998, in England. Little to no information is available on his family and private life. In fact, Sub’s voice, appearance, and real life are some of the biggest mysteries on YouTube. There have been several videos from respected YouTube stars in which they speculated about his identity. Sub is well-aware of this and has made several videos addressing the matter. However, most of these videos were comedic in nature. Sub created the YouTube channel which would become The Pals on January 24, 2012, under the username MayaTOOTS. He posted the first video on February 1, 2013. Titled ‘Minecraft - 10+ Ways to Kill a Creeper in Style!’, it has garnered over 230 thousand views to date. In those early days of his YouTube career, MayaTOOTS served as Sub’s main channel. He uploaded sporadically, only posting eight videos in the first two years of the channel.

He then began a collaborative effort with Sketch, who used the username Sk3tch at the time, and renamed the channel SubZero & Sketch. After Sketch left, the channel was renamed once more, to SubZeroExtabyte. Eventually, other Minecraft and Roblox YouTube stars such as Denis, Corl, Alex, and Flebsy joined Sub to rebrand the channel as The Pals. It is primarily a Roblox gaming channel. Sketch later returned to the channel. At present, the channel receives hundreds of thousands of views on each of the videos. The most popular video on the channel is ‘Roblox Adventures - Murder in the Bathroom! (Roblox Murder Mystery)’, with over 17 million views.

On July 8, 2016, Sub created his self-titled personal channel. He gets thousands of views on each of his videos here as well. He is equally popular on other social media platforms.
